Plea to the Lords of the Morning
(Age of Legends, Authenticity Unknown)
Hail the blest morn see the great congregation
Down from the regions of country descend
Shepherds enlist in the ranks all attending
Lo they'll need guards when bright angels arrive
Brightest and best of the lords of the morning
Dawn on the darkness and lend us thine aid
Star! In the East, the horizon adorning
Come let us help the decision be made
Cold in the magic the power is stirring
Weak is his tomb, no longer in thrall
Darkfriends adore him, their tortures defining
Good men and soldiers before him do fall
Brightest and best of the lords of the morning
Dawn on our darkness and lend us thine aid
Star! In the East, the horizon adorning
Come let us help the decision be made
Vainly we offer each ample oblation
Vainly with gifts we their favor entice
Greater to them is all adoration
Come ye great lord and 100 through time
Brightest and best of the lords of the morning
Dawn on our darkness and lend us thine aid
Star! In the East, the horizon adorning
Come let us help the decision be made
A song written before the Breaking of the World, just before Lews Therin Telamon came to the Hall of Servants to decide what the course of action about the Bore into Shayol Ghul would be. (A/N here's where we go…) At first, Telamon refused to negotiate with the rest and was definite on doing his own thing. Later, of course he did, and it resulted in the tainting of saidin and the Breaking of the World. This ode tells of the situation and is a plea for the Lord of the Morning, and his 100 companions.
Disclaimer:
This does in no part belong to me. The song is 'Brightest and Best' or 'Star in the East' and is a Christmas Carol, upon having ot learn it, I thought of a new story behind it, and this fit right in. Robert Jordan, well duh, and all of his works do not belong to me, and this is fudging history just a little bit. There is one more installment, in which everything is explained, in like a story format. Please review anyway!
