Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter or any characters, so on and so forth.
A/N: Short little ficlet for Mistress Quill, as she was the inspiration for it. And there won't be more to this, so please don't ask. I'm merely taking a break from "Snape Walks Into a Bar" to flex my creative muscles.
He'd heard the clunk outside his chambers quite clearly, more clearly than he probably should have; but he did have the whole area surrounding his private quarters quite heavily warded in the rare case that someone actually had the nerve to attempt to prank him. What he found when he opened the door put a deeper scowl on his face than normal. Dragging the wrapped body into his sitting room, he quickly charmed away the carpet and found the Headmistress of Hogwarts, Minerva McGonagall bound and gagged. She was struggling and he took mercy on her letting her out of her restraints.
"Minerva, who did this to you?" he demanded of her.
She took a seat on his couch and took several deep breaths to calm herself. "It wasn't a student, Severus, I can tell you that much."
He sat next to her. Noticing a small envelope in her pocket, he removed it and quickly read the contents. The look on his face turned into one of anger. "Granger!"
"What are you talking about, Severus? Miss Granger has not set foot in this school since graduating. She's been much too busy with the wedding plans and her schooling to even consider taking the time to do such a thing. And I highly doubt she would put a full body bind spell on me, wrap me up, and place me in front of your private chambers without no one noticing her."
He handed her the note. She glanced at it. "Oh!"
Severus Snape stood up and turned to the fireplace, smirking in a way that suggested he was plotting his revenge.
"Now don't do anything rash!"
Turning back to McGonagall he said, "I never do anything rash." He grabbed a handful of floo powder and tossed it into the fire shouting "Harry Potter's House!" In a flash of green and yellowish light, he was gone.
McGonagall could only look at the fire for a moment and shake her head. She let herself out of Snape's rooms leaving the note behind. Some people were in for an interesting Christmas surprise. Of course, she wasn't about to tell him that she was the one really behind the note that read "Merry Christmas, Hunny Bunns" and not Hermione Granger although it had partially been the girl's idea.
"Now, where did Albus store all that charmed mistletoe?"
