for the 12 days of Christmas challange, so I did.
"That's so mean! Toichi get those off of them!" the woman stood astonished next to her husband, who looked more than a little amused at the squawking, helpless little creatures stuck helplessly inside a piece of another animal's anatomy.
He grinned, on a the verge of laughing
at four little pigeon feet flailing through the bottom holes of two
abandoned turtle shells. "Toichi, they're your damn birds! Have
some pity!"
"Oyaji," his son peered over the counter,
looking a little concerned, "how'd ya get them in there?"
He opened his mouth to respond with some enigmatic reply worthy of a magician, to be interrupted by his wife, "More importantly, how will you get them out?"
The three looked at each other, and back to the 'turtle doves' on the counter, "...Somehow this went so much better in my head."
