Genre: Romance/Angst
Summary: A being like Q or Kes watches over Icheb and his girlfriend, knowing that they will eventually get married. A drabble/oneshot, unless of course someone wants me to continue it. Could be slash if you interpret it that way, or could be Kes, or a female Q. This could also be set during my upcoming story, Come Dance with Me.

Author's Note: I wrote this while listening to the Tick Tock Harp Duo: Carols of the Winter Solstice cd. I highly recommend it. Tracks 1, 2, 6, and 10 are slightly melancholy, perfect for this story, especially tracks 10 & 6.
I just noticed something. I like to write angst. Hmmm, I never noticed that before. Odd.
And now, onto the story!
Someday, she will not be there for you.
Someday, she will not be there to love you.
Someday, she will not be with you when you need her.
But I will be there, waiting in the wings for you.
Waiting to comfort you, waiting to take her place in your heart, in your soul.
Or at least take a place in your heart.
But I will not try to make you forget her.
Because she will mean so much to you.
I will be there to love you, like she never could, like no mere mortal could.
There are some that would say that you were just a mere mortal also, not worth my affection.
But what do they know?
They've probably never been in love, truly in love.
When you are truly in love with someone, you will let them do whatever makes them happy.
Even let them love another.
You will not pursue them and try to make them forget their other love.
If you truly love them, you will be patient and wait for them.
And that is what I will do.
I will wait for you, my love.
Someday, she will not be there for you.
Someday, I will be the one for you.
Someday.
