Hello, great people of the fan fiction kingdom. I have another one-shot coming your way! I thought of this while listening to the song, "Numb" by Linkin Park. It speaks of being ignored, and not having anyone pay attention to you. Anyway, here's my story version of the song, "Numb."

Disclaimer: I own nothing, so stay away from me with your torches!

Everywhere he went, all people wanted to speak about was the pharaoh, his friend. Yugi stood in the middle of the crowd, ignored once again. Why did no one care about him? Even his friends ignored him now, and always hung out with the former pharaoh. He had a plan, so that people would forget about him…forever.

After they had gotten home, the phone rang. It was Joey, and Yugi answered.

"Hey Yuge," Joey whispered on the other line. "Is Yami there?" Yugi sighed, and called the pharaoh's name. He walked off as Yami grabbed the phone from his hikari's hand.

Why did he allow Yami to do this to him? He knew him after he put the Puzzle together, but now, everything had changed. He wouldn't let this happen ever again. He walked into the kitchen, and pulled out a butcher knife from the knife holder. He was about to strike when Yami walked into the room.

"Yugi, Joey wants us to go to the arcade with him…" he stopped when he saw Yugi with the knife. "What are you doing?"

"I'm going away, Pharaoh," Yugi whispered, holding up the knife again. "Now, no one can ignore me ever again." His eyes appeared to have a crazed maniac look in them, glistening in the light.

"Yugi, I won't let you do this!" Yami roared, leaping at the boy, trying to yank the knife away from him. "I won't let you commit suicide, just because many people don't pay attention to you! Now, give me the knife."

"No, never!" Yugi yelled, trying to keep Yami away from him. "You can never stop death!" A struggle began as Yami grabbed the blade, but Yugi pulled it away, leaving a long cut on the pharaoh's hand. It bled glistening red blood, which dripped onto the floor. Yugi stopped when he saw the blood on the knife's edge.

"Pharaoh, are you alright?" he asked, walking over, but Yami just pulled away.

"Stay away from me, Yugi," the pharaoh whispered, looking down at his bloody hand. "You deserve to die. You were right. No one will ignore you ever again. Just do it." Yugi came to his senses, and set the knife down on the counter. He then made a wet paper towel, and wrapped it around Yami's hand.

"I'm sorry," Yugi apologized, bowing sorrowfully. "I'll never try to commit suicide. I know that people aren't ignoring me. They're just trying to find me in the darkness."

"Now, Joey's waiting for us," Yami replied, smiling. Wrapping his arm around his yami's shoulder, both Yugi and Yami walked out the door, the boy smiling broadly in the daylight.

I know. That was confusing. Still, you like it? Review, please!
