"Come on Katie! You can do it!" Tricia encouraged her daughter. The baby wobbled on her erect legs, and moved determinedly to walk towards her mother. Unfortunately, her sense of balance was was limited and she immediately fell. The baby, startled, let out a heartbreaking wail. Tricia smiled at her daughter.
"Katie, Honey. It's ok." She crooned softly as she picked the baby up to rock her. "Were going to see daddy today! Mommy has the sprites working for her right now, so we can go visit him." She continued.
Tricia went over to the dresser and took out some clothes and a cap for katie. After dressing the baby, she strapped her into her stroller, covered her with a purple fleecy blanket, and handed her a stuffed sheep to snuggle. Tricia put on her coat and pushed the stroller out the door, into the clear cold winter morning. As she walked up the road, she heard the sweet sound of her daughter cooing. No doubt talking to her stuffed sheep. It was wonderful being with her daughter. With taking care of the farm, important mother/daughter time was short, so she cherished the times spent with her daughter. Like now.
Turning at the library, she walked past that awful Elli's house. She hated Elli. Even after her and her husband were married, she constantly tried to seduce her husband. She was fired and shamed from her job, when she delibertly tried to feed Tricia a tampered medicine. She almost felt sorry for the poor girl, after all she was a woman scorned...
Moving on she the passed the Mayor's house and the general store. Then she came to her destination, the clinic. Walking inside she smiled at Sammy. He came from the mainland to help with the clinic. He was a nice boy, but he was very impatiant. He was always talking about recieving his Doctorship. Even though he had a few years to go.
Suddenly, a pair of arms surrounded her middle. Noting the familier touch, she leaned back. "Goodmorning darling." Said her husband, the doctor. ;)
"What are you doing here?" he said.
Tricia turned in his arms and placed one arm around his neck, and her other hand over his cheek. "Happy anniversary honey" she replied, and she kissed him deeply. Needing air he pulled back gently and smiled. A noisy wail errupted, and he parted from her, to pick up his baby girl. She calmed, and started to croon softly. "I will never understand how she quiets down so fast with you." Said Tricia. The doctor just chuckled softly.
