The tall man was wondering whether or not to rescue his beloved, considering the consequences that were bound to happen if he did do so. Within the chambers of Wayne Mansion was Richard John Grayson himself, the half-brother of Bruce Wayne. The quiet shadows that reflected his figure rained down against the mansion floors, silhouetting the furniture around him.

It had only been a few days ago since that mellow and calm woman imprinted a strong sense of pacifism in him. Why was he so affected by a woman he had never met before? He couldn't figure out the answer…

"Is there something you require, Master Dick?"

An elderly man in fine, velvety attire approached the brooding man, awaiting his orders of service.

"No Alfred… I'm fine." Dick gradually turned to face Alfred than returned his gaze outside of the large window panels. The day was gloomy as dim, white skies overwhelmed the entire city of Gotham.

"Very well." The butler left the room, once again leaving the young detective-in the making to look out.

This particular girl had bright, flaring red hair and a pair of the most alluring blue eyes he had ever seen. Her name was none other than Barbara Gordon, daughter of Commissioner Gordon of Gotham. He had met her in a pub, where his friends nick-named him 'Crutches'.

Flashback:

Bridgette Clancy, a half Irish, half Chinese college student could be seen serving drinks and beer to the locals of Bludhaven City. Dick was on a business trip to this city on behalf of representing his brother's company: Wayne Enterprises. A faint light showered over Dick who was sitting on a bar seat.

Raven Roth, another local of Bludhaven was gradually sitting next to him, awaiting her order. Something seductive attracted Dick's attention to her, putting an unexpected smile on his face. Unfortunately, Bludhaven was known for its serial killers and rapists, thus forcing Raven to question his intentions.

Raven uneasily stood from her chair and moved to a different location, leaving Dick with a feeling of embarrassment and bewilderment.

"Can I get you something?" Clancy moved towards Dick, delivering two mugs of beer to a couple sitting beside him.

"Yeah, can I…" A voice interrupted him and awkwardly enough, it was pretty much familiar to our aspiring detective.

"He'll get vodka on the rocks." Barbara Gordon sat beside him, settling down a foul looking suitcase on the bar. "Dick Grayson?" Babs coyly eyed him and extended a hand to shake.

"Yeah. You're Babs Gordon, right? I met you with your father in an accident that occurred in Wayne Enterprises." Dick smiled knowing that he wasn't alone in this new, cruel environment that he was unaware existed.

"That's right." Babs expressed a funny face as she caught something she knew of.

"Hey! That's Raven!" Babs swiftly ran over to Raven who was also returning the haste.

"Babs? What are you doing all the way out here in Bludhaven?" Raven's sweet voice filled the air. She was pretty when she let her guard down, prettier than any other girl he'd seen.

But what really attracted him to Raven was her scent. Her scent was like the scent of life.

Babs moved closer to Dick, obviously wanting to introduce him to her new friend.

"Dick, this is Raven, college friend of mine. Raven, this is my fiancée, Dick Grayson of Wayne Enterprises."

A funny expression overtook Dick's face.
"What! Fiancée! What're you talking about?"

And starting from that point, life just went upside down.
