He looked up at the height of the school, as if realizing for the first time to which extents its towers reached. It never occurred to him that one building could be so tall, so prominent against the skyline. He forced a grin upon his face, not really feeling the need to smile, but doing so anyway.

It was the last time that he would gaze up at the structure that had become his home over the past seven years. There would be no reason to look forwards to September anymore, not after leaving today. Instead, he would be going on to work, to do boring things day in and day out, unless he managed to land himself a profession on a Quidditch team.

There would be no more waking up in a five-person dormitory, red velvet curtains serving as a wall between his roommates. There would be no staying up past midnight to finish an essay for Transfiguration or Charms, making sure that it was at least five or six inches longer than it was required. He wouldn't have to spend each free moment attempting to come up with new and unique moves for the team to use in order to win their next Quidditch match. No longer would have to fight with other captains to schedule a practice.

He cast a quick look around him before returning his eyes upon the high tower that was the Gryffindor Common Room, longing to spend one more night in his room before walking away.

Because once he did, there would be no turning back. Oliver knew that he was leaving was forever.
