Discrimination and comfort

"I am going for my evening walk if you need me you can call me on my communicator." Said Starfire as she was walking out of the door

As Starfire walked out of Titans Tower and down through the busy streets. She accidentally bumped into an older man around 31.

"Watch where your going you little slut" the man said gruffly

"I'm really sorry sir." She replied shocked

"yea sure u are now get out of my sight you little whore, it's a wonder you can walk around barely clothed." He said

Starfire to shocked to reply just nodded her head and flew towards Titans Tower.

When she walked in through the door she ran to her room and slammed the door.

"Is Starfire back yet from her walk?" Robin asked just now coming into the main room

"Yea, but don't talk to her right now I think she needs to be alone." Raven said

"Why what happened" Robin asked wondering why she was so upset

"Because when she got home she jus ran to her room and slammed the door" Raven answered a little annoyed that Robin was bothering her when she was trying to read her book.

"What' wrong is she sick is she hurt...is she" Robin didn't get to finish because Raven cut him off

"I don't know why don't you just go and find out so I can have some piece and quiet"

Robin ran quickly to the elevator and on to the 4th floor to Starfire's room and knocked on her door. But he got no answer. He entered the access code and saw that no one was in her room, so he figured she would be on the roof.

When Robin reached the roof he saw Starfire looking up at the stars and sat down next to her. Before Robin even began to speak Starfire asked

"Robin what is the definition of I believe it is pronounced slut?"

Robin was taken by surprise but none the less he answered her question

"ummmmmm a slut is usually a girl who sleeps around a lot" he said

"So they are lazy? She asked puzzled

Robin blushed he knew what he was going to have to say in order for her to understand

"Um not exactly ummmm it means that…..they…um it means that they uhhhh have sex a lot. Robin blushed even further

Starfire busted into tears and ran down to her room. Robin sat up on the roof puzzled by her actions.

"What was she talking about why did she suddenly ask me about this."

Then it dawned on him that after she came home from her walk that something was troubling her.and he ran down stairs to her room

Knock knock

"Go away"

"Star let me in we need to talk" robin said as the door opened

After a few silent moments starfire asked

"Robin do you see me as a slut?"

"WHAT NO WHY WOULD YOU EVEN THINK THAT?"

"because when I was on my walk earlier…" she did not finish but robin new what she was trying to say and it angered him that anyone could even think that about Starfire.

"Starfire? Did someone call you a slut? Robin asked

Starfire nodded her head

"I do not understand I do not sleep around and…." She did not finished because she broke down into tears

Robin acting on instinct went to her and wrapped her into his arms

"Starfire its ok some people are like that and I'm sorry you had to witness this kind of discrimination. It's ok as long as you don't let it effect you as long as you feel good about yourself it doesn't matter what anyone thinks about you. As long as your happy being you"

"Robin I thank you for being so caring" she said stiffening her tears

starfire soon fell asleep and robin whispered "I love you" in her ear and when he left after he set her down she smiled and the discrimination she had faced suddenly evaporated and was no longer thought of again
