E: I don't own any of the characters, but I do own the story so please don't use it. If someone knows what the Japanese name for the flower shop is, please tell me. Thank you.

Floral Paradise

Chapter 1

Gazing longingly outside, I pressed my face against the chilled window and watched as my view was obscured by a cloud of my breath.

It was amazing how easily the seasons changed. It was one of the reasons I died for this place. I wish I too could change so completely, but all I've done is chop off my ridiculously long hair into a short blonde spike.

I couldn't change my nature. My personality. It would insult my senshi's memory to wrap myself in a thick veil, hiding myself from my beloved friends as if I'd never been happy. My senshi, friends, would never want me to be a pitiful creature that disguised herself as something else.

No, they'd want me to be happy or at least try to be. I had let myself have one true grieving moment when I clipped all my hair off. It was a way to mourn my departed friends and I didn't regret it. It was perfect closure.

Prying myself off the window, I glanced at the image of the winter wonderland. It was time to go out and face the world and show that, yes, I was still alive.

Wearing a pair of rumpled jeans and a white turtleneck, I stumbled into some boots and slipped out of my apartment door.

Turning the corner of the hallway, I shoved open the door to the stairwell. Creeping down the stairs, I vaguely realized that I had forgotten my coat, but it was too late now. If I went back I would never make it outside.

I walked out of the building into a blast of cold air. Yes, it truly was winter. I could no longer ignore the lapse of time.

Walking through the shopping district, I looked at the people passing by. They looked so incredibly happy. Maybe there was hope, even after all the destruction that Chaos had left behind. If these people could be happy, then maybe I, too, could be.

With more confidence than previously, I crossed an intersection with the rest of the city population. There seemed to be a slight commotion further down the street. There was a flock of school girls gathered around a store.

Wondering what could possibly be so interesting, I skimmed the outskirts of the crowd. I took a moment to look up at the sign which read, "Koneko no Sumu Ie." Kitten in the House? What a strange name.

Crazed school girls pushed me to the front of the store. I peeked through a window and I realized that the store was a floral shop. My eyes landed on an extravagant bouquet of red and white roses.

It reminded me of what Mamo-chan and I used to have, and through my tears I smiled. Though we hadn't had the greatest relationship, we lhad oved each other and thought we could bring about Crystal Tokyo.

In a daze of memories, I groped for the door handle. I found it and let myself into the establishment. Gliding across the tile floor, I bent down and studied the floral arrangement. I placed my hands around the vase and carefully picked it up.

On my way to the cashier my trance was broken by a voice saying, "Hey, there darlin'. Let me help you with those."

As I spun around to face the voice, my eyes clashed with a stunning pair of green eyes. I lost my grip on the vase, and as it slipped, I panicked. Praying, I hoped that a miracle would occur.
