(Note: This is the first part of the memory I mentioned in the previous chapter. Keep in mind that this story has nothing, I repeat nothing to do with any of my other stories. Remember that, okay? Now, on with the next chapter! This one is also very short, sorry about that.)

They were walking home from school together, all six of them: Takuya, Koji, Koichi, Zoe, JP, and Tommy. There was not a worry or fear among any of them. They were laughing, joking, and just enjoying being in each other's company. They stopped only when a strange man blocked their path.

"Excuse me," the man said, "But do any of you happen to know the time?"

Before anyone else could check their watches, however, Takuya quickly said, "Nope, sorry sir." He looked at his friends, his eyes saying, 'We gotta get out of here. Now!'

The others nodded and followed him around the man and to the park. "What was that about?" Koji asked.

Takuya looked around nervously, as if to make sure no one had followed them. He sighed and said, "I've seen that guy before."

"Of course you have," said Zoe. "He lives in the area Koji and Koichi do, doesn't he?"

"Yeah, but that's not what I meant," Takuya replied. "That man...he used to be wanted for murder and other things. He was let out of prison about a month ago. He's really dangerous. I don't know why anyone would let a guy like him back out on the streets."

Tommy shrugged. "Maybe he had a change of heart," he said.

Takuya shook his head. "No, guys like him don't change." He sighed. "I dunno, but whatever you do, don't go near him, got it?"

The others nodded. "Yeah, we got it," said JP.

"Okay," said Takuya. "Now come on! Let's play soccer!" His friends smiled and quickly agreed.

Koichi sighed. "Why didn't we listen to him?" he asked himself. He soon drifted off into a dreamless sleep.
