Dreams haunt him in the ebony night,
When he sleeps he is tormented by the darkness in his heart.
They call him the 'Hero With No Fear',
But they don't know what lies deep in his soul,
That only reveals itself in his dreams.
These dreams of pain and suffering,
Give ache to his already torn heart,
As he battles the darkness with a single flame,
It should be enough,
But gusts of wild nightmares extinguish it.
His brother tries to help him,
But his brother cannot see,
What lies beneath inside his soul,
He loves her.
Simple and unassuming love.
Love that destroys him every time he breathes.
She tries to reach him,
But all he can hear,
Is those dark whisperings in his ear.
There is another, who promises life,
And if it means life for his love,
He'll do it.
And so the Hero With No Fear,
Lets that dark dread consume him, He becomes enslaved,
To this relative theory of darkness,
That in pain it will produce life.
He bows before his new Master,
Who promises protection from his pain,
And he becomes a pawn,
To the King.
On this chessboard of dreams.
He has transformed into a new machine,
Of killing despite desperate pleas,
And he must face one final test.
He must face his friend and brother,
With crashing sabers and hatred.
He travels to Hell,
The personification of his dreams,
Where two souls collide.
The blackness flies and suffocates,
Untilhis trepidation is replaced by stark horror.
As he watches what is left of him walk away,
With his weapon and his integrity,
And he becomes fully encased in the sepulchral shadows of his dreams.
His true love dies on a cold table away from his arms.
And it was all for nothing.
He is nothing more than a mechanism,
A slave once again,
To his dreams.
