Her mother would disapprove, though she wouldn't say so. Instead she would just smile tightly at her on the Platform and then disappear into the sunroom with her Elderberry wine. The house elves would scowl at her for days and forget that she likes her baths drawn tepid.
Pansy wishes she could stop, knowing that she is a disappointment with her pug nose and her ugly laugh. She wishes that there was something in her to be proud of.
Her father would scream and rage and demand that she "think of the family" before palming her off to a Goyle, or a Nott, who wouldnt mind Malfoy castoffs. Pansy wasn't quite sure that wouldn't be preferable to the never ending silence - she knew she was supposed to be a boy.
Pansy lies and says that she's fine because, if nothing else, she is still a Slytherin. She wants to push the hands away, reclaim her body as her own, but finds herself gasping ohgoddontstop instead and biting her lip hard enough to bleed.
Snape would be disgusted, that she threw away her influence for nothing more than hot bodies in cold rooms. She could have had it all, he would sneer while she peered at her feet, if only she would have stayed quiet. But of course, she just had to make an ordeal of it all.
Pansy dreams she had let the hat put her in Gryffindor, where they would cheer as she turned away from her family because "love is more important" they would say. She sneers and knows that all the crimson fabric in the world can't make up for the blood treachery of Gryffindors.
Daphne would slap her, hard across the face in front of everyone - not just the Slytherins. She wouldn't scream or rant but when Pansy looked in the mirror later there would be a bright red stain across her cheek that paled in comparison to the stain upon her name. Later that night Daphne would come back, but she wouldn't apoligise because she wouldn't be sorry for what she'd done.
Pansy sighs as her hands ghost over Daphne's heaving chest, just barely touching her pale, pale skin. The bed hangings are pulled closed and it's almost like another world, if you ignore Millicent's snores and Tracey's sleep filled mumbles. Daphne twists slightly and presses a kiss against the corner of Pansy's mouth and its almost like saying 'I love you'.
In the morning Pansy puts on a smile with her makeup and no-one suspects a thing.
