"Remus dear, would you please take this food to Tonks, she had a late night and I wanted to let her sleep through Breakfast."
Remus took the tray and levitated it up the stairs to the third floor before pausing outside of Tonks' door. He had known the young Auror for less than 5 weeks, and already she was growing on him. She was like a glowing light in his grey life.
He gently knocked on the door, and when he received no answer, pushed it open. Setting the tray down on her bedside table he approached the breathing lump in the covers that was Tonks. He poked her once, and when he got no response, pulled the covers away from her head. He could never have been prepared for what he saw.
It was Bellitrix.
With a move that Tonks would have been proud of, Remus took three fast steps backwards and tripped over the nightstand.
In the chaos that followed, Bellitrix shot up in the bed, grabbed her wand, and had the Orange Juice covered man in front of her under wand point.
There was a moment when they both just stared at each other. Remus noticed the lack of anger in her eyes that he knew all too well from growing up with Sirius and his wacky family. He also let common sense take over. This house was guarded impossibly well, there was no way Belletix could have gotten in, let alone be sleeping in Tonks' bed.
"T-T-Tonks?" He whispered, all to aware that he was still covered by her wand.
"What are you doing?" she replied.
"Tonks?" the wand point was now at the floor, he noted.
"Remus why are you in my room on my...floor?"
"You--Molly--you----Tonks is that really you?"
She looked at him with one raised eyebrow, then seemed to realize what he meant. She bolted out of bed and flung open her closet door to look at the mirror.
All at once, her eyes widened in surprise, but she quickly hid that by exclaiming: "Well that's interesting!"
"That's not interesting--It's bloody terrifying!"
"Oh you worried old man!" She laughed. " I must have morphed in my sleep! I was dreaming about doing something interesting as an Auror for a change, and that something was fighting death eaters! Bellitrix herself, in fact!"
Remus, his heart still beating fast, shook his head in amazement.
"There's the remainder of your breakfast, there." he said, hoping his voice wasn't shaking. "I'll make a note not to come in here when you are sleeping..."
She just grinned at him, and waved him away, morphing back into herself. He backed out of her room.
On the stairs down to the kitchen, he ran into Sirius, who took one look at him and burst into laughter.
"Seen Tonksies' true form then, eh?"
"WHAT?"
