A/N: Spencer's POV. Lyrics bolded.
I'm lying next to Ashley in her bed. Our fingers are entwined and our hearts hold a grip on each other's. I think about the way she thinks.
Imagine a place only your soul can vision
The heart of a child who looks, sees, and listens
She paints a picture using every color
And what she sees, she sees is like no other
Ashley sees the world in a different way than other girls our age. She tries her hardest to see the beauty of it all. Past the pain and suffering, neglect and prejudice. She isn't about clothes or cars or money or boys. She is about life.
One word, a voice unheard
You can change the world
With everything I know you're made of
One word, a voice unheard
You can change the world
"How do you do it?" I ask. "You never seem to care about anything. The insults that get yelled at you. The constant threat for what you are."
"It's love. That's why," my girlfriend tells me.
If everyone would stop and listen
The art of innocence makes so much sense
But placed in the wrong hands, then it's wasted
"I see it like a little kid. I don't have to think when I see a couple. I just believe, 'Oh, they're in love, that's great.' I don't think, 'They shouldn't be together since they're both men.' It's love, and that's all that matters. If someone is going to bash me because they don't see it like that, then that's they're problem." Ashley explained further.
Filtered though the eyes of a pure mind
"I wish everyone would think the same way," I say, staring into her eyes.
"Yeah, if only." She kisses me. "Maybe we can change it all one day."
A one-of-a-kind paradise for you and I
A/N: So, that probably wasn't the best thing ever. It was my first try at a song-fic. Please review, good or bad, please only bad if it's constructive. Thanks!
