Galenchia: I haven't written any fan fiction for a while, but I'm actually considering this story my true "first fic." o.o; I've decided to just throw my work out here regardless of how I, myself criticize it, in the hopes that it will increase my writing productivity in general.
Now that I explained my case, I'll move on to briefly introduce the story (my author's notes are always so long, I swear!) This fic is an introspective on Ed's part…I'll let you read to get the details. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this piece. :3 Whee!
Fanfiction basis: Full Metal Alchemist
Rating: G; Everyone
Genre: Angst/General
Warnings: None (including spoilers, language, etc. This fic's squeaky clean!)
Disclaimer: Despite my claims of being world dictator, I still lack ownership of Full Metal Alchemist…and Russia, darn it!
My name is Edward Elric: a name synonymous, at least in military affiliations, with "the Full Metal Alchemist." If I ignore the uncertainty clouding my judgment, I can safely say that is who I am. But I've never been quite sure that anything in life is certain.
I am the Full Metal Alchemist.
Metal, regardless of what type, is a mere blend of basic components.
A human body is comprised of basic components, as well…I would rather be more than just materials.
I am the Full Metal Alchemist.
Metal is used as a tool, whether to reap havoc or healing.
I'm a "dog of the military", required to use my services for warfare or defense…I would rather not be a utensil.
I am the Full Metal Alchemist.
Metal retains cold and heat.
I try to reconcile my mistakes, but those failures are always within earshot…I would rather be immaculate, without chills.
I am the Full Metal Alchemist.
Metalcan begin smooth until it's engraved and shaped by those who encounter it.
Even at a young age, I was engraved with knowledge of the world's hardships and sorrows…I would rather be ignorant again.
I am the Full Metal Alchemist.
Metal can be dented or marred, twisted or cut.
Such trivial things from words to elements can hurt me, whether physically or mentally…I would rather be invincible.
I am the Full Metal Alchemist.
Metal can be easily replaced with another metal.
I can be easily replaced by another person, seeing as I'm only a fragment of existence…I would rather be unequaled, and forget that "all is one, one is all" idea.
I am the Full Metal Alchemist.
Metal lacks the power to mold the world to its own content.
My assets have revolutionized little…I would rather be almighty.
I am the Full Metal Alchemist.
Metal is not human, and doesn't feel.
Sometimes my actions question if I'm so different…I would rather leave that unanswered.
I am the Full Metal Alchemist.
Sometimes I wonder if that's good or bad…
Galenchia: Now I'm disappointed. I felt like this was going to turn out much better than it currently appears. Perhaps I need to look at it a few more times…
Well, readers, it would be lovely for you to leave me a review with comments, suggestions, critiques, etc! Flames without applicable criticism have no purpose, and will therefore be ignored…or used to set Ms. Curtis a'flame. Ooh, maybe you should leave me some flames, then... :D –Dashes off to find matches.-
Thanks for reading; I hope you enjoyed this fic.
Galenchia, exeunt.
