I don't own Gilmore Girls. This is my first attempt to write a Java Junkie, so please tell me what you think so I will know if I should continue to write more of them. In this story, Luke's daughter never existed and Jess and Rory got married and had a child named Lorelei. Her nickname of course was Leila. Both Rory and Lorelei got sick. Well, here it is! I hope you enjoy it!

Strong

"I'm sorry Mr. Danes, but there's nothing we can do. She's not going to make it."

Suddenly, it felt as if a bullet went right through his heart.

"No… No! There must be another way doctor! We have to do something." Luke yelled.

The doctor shook her head. "I'm sorry,"

He walked to her room, but didn't go in. Instead, he waited for her to finish talking to Will.

"Listen, Will. Be a good boy for Mommy okay? Remember that I will always love you."

"Of course you love me, I know that already."

"Good. William Richard Danes, come here and give Mommy and hug and kiss."

I have to be strong for Will, he thought.

Will walked out.

"Hey, Will, why don't you go to your cousin Jess and Leila?"

"Okay, Daddy."

"I'm going to talk to Mommy," he said as he made an effort to smile.

"Jess! Leila! I want you to read me a story!" Will said jumping up and down when he saw them.

"Hey, Will. Dad, I brought a book." Leila said getting it from her backpack and handing it to Jess.

Luke watched them read until he heard someone say, "Luke, it's safe to come in."

He hesitated, but went inside.

"Luke, I'm dying."

"No, you can't. Stay strong."

"There's nothing I can do."

Luke sat at her bedside and took her hand. He looked deep into her blue eyes and saw how tired and weak she looked. She didn't look like the live, strong, glowing Lorelei anymore.

A tear fell from her sad, once shining eyes. "I guess you were right about the coffee and junk food." she smiled and started to laugh weakly.

"No, I wasn't. Lorelei, don't joke about this."

"Take care of Will for me. And watch out for Jess and Leila. They might look okay, but they are barely holding up after what happened to Rory." she said and started to cough.

"Don't worry, I will." Luke replied tearing up.

"Sshh… It's okay." her eyes start to close, "I love you…"

The hand he held dropped as the life from her disappeared.

"Lorelei! No!" His tears dropped faster and faster. "I love you too," he whispered.

He let go of her hand and walked out to where Will was.

"Hey, Daddy! We finished reading the book!" he paused when he saw the tears in his father's eyes, "Why are you crying? You don't need to cry, everything will be okay." Will said hugging Luke.

"Will, I have to tell you something," he sat down and put Will on his lap. "Mommy is gone."

Will's eyes started to water. "Where did she go?"

"She went with Rory to a place where they can have all the coffee and food they want,"

"I thought that's why we have to diner?"

"Yes, but in that place, they are free and aren't sick anymore. One day, you and I will be with them too."

"Will they come back?"

"I'm afraid they won't, but they will always love you and watch out for you no matter what. Even though you can't see tem, they will always guide you in your heart."

"I'm going to miss them."

"Me too, Will. Me too. We have to be strong though, even though they aren't with us anymore."
