Before the Treasure Hunt

Summary: Riley's job that was mentioned in the beginning of the film

Notes: I own nothing and this is meant to be a short one-shot kinda thing.

It was a cubicle. Ironically it was also grey. A small, cramped, grey cubicle that only held one thing that made it of any use. A computer. The chair wasn't even comfortable and the rollers would stick constantly. But at least he was allowed to wear his sneakers.

Stretching his arms above his head he looked to the clock, 11:55.

Break time.

Sliding his cursor to the folder named 'other programs' he double-clicked and soon was immersed in a stimulating conquest of good versus evil. He didn't do this often, or at least he tried not to, but when he did it took all his concentration.

"Riley."

Waving his hand at the voice, he moved his chair closer, certain that he had figured it out. A few more moves and he would have victory. And after such a short time, this was a personal record since it usually took him much longer.

"Riley."

He waved his hand again as his eyes passed over the screen quickly. He could feel it; he was so close-

"Just move the Queen to the King on the left and you're set up to win instantly."

With an exasperated sigh, Riley leaned back in his chair, "Why do you always have to do that?" Rubbing his hand across his chin he noticed with much ungratefulness that Ben was right. "So," looking to him, "what is it?"

"Get your things, we're going on a mission."

Riley looked back to the screen, "But I almost won…"

Ben put his hand on Riley's shoulder in a consoling manner, "Trust me, this prize is a lot more valuable."
