Puppy Face
Chapter 11-Sick
Beep!Beep!Beep!Be--
The sound of Kagome's alarm was cut short as she yanked the cord from the wall. The raven-haired beauty rolled over and off of her bed with a loud yell of surprise.
Groaning, Kagome rubbed her ribs and attempted to sit up. When she did, a splitting headache greeted her. Moaning, she lay back down on her floor, waiting until her mother came upstairs she she could tell her that she wasn't feeling well.
"Kagome? Are you alright dear?" Kagome's mother's soothing voice asked from the doorway of Kagome's room.
"Erm-yes. I'm not feeling too well." Kagome admitted.
"Alright, I'll get you some tea and why don't you stay home today dear?"
"Thanks mum, will do." Kagome replied, and attempted to haul herself back into bed. After a few unsucessful attempts, she merely gave up, grabbed her blanket and remained on the floor, quickly falling back asleep.
.:.With Kagome's Mother.:.
Ding!
"Yes?" Kagome's mother asked the very handsome silver-haired boy at the doorway. He looked surprised to see her.
"Er-Is Kagome there? I was kinda hoping I could drive her to school." he replied. Kagome's mother smiled.
"I'm sorry dear, she seems to not be feeling well, shes decided to stay home."
"Oh." the golden-eyed boy frowned. Kagome's mother had a sudden idea.
"Do you have any of the same classes as Kagome?" she asked the boy.
"Um, yeah..."
"Could you collect her homework for her if its not too much trouble? You could drop it off on your way home, as you live right next door, right?"
"Oh, right. Yeah, I'll do that." Inuyasha said stupidly. "Gotta go, bye." he said, leaving the shrine and heading for school.
.:.Lunch.:.
"Yo! Inuyasha! Have you seen Kagome around? Sango's going crazy and has threatened to kill you if anything had happened to her and you were the cause of it..."
"Feh. The wench is at home. Shes sick." Inuyasha replied nonchalently. "By the way, tell Sango to collect her homework in the classes she has with her, I'm going to take the work over to her house after school."
"SUGAR-PUMPKIN!"
"Oh shit not her..." Inuyasha mumbled as he turned around to see Kikyou running straight at him. She leaped into the air, expecting Inuyasha to catch her, and got the shock of a lifetime when she landed face first on the floor.
"Owwwwie! What was that for sugar-pumpkin?" Kikyou whined.
"One, I'm not your 'sugar-pumpkin' anymore, two, what happened to the 'better guy' you found while you were gone?"
"I made a mistake! Hes nothing like you Inu-chan!" Kikyou whined.
"Well too bad. Its your own damn fault. Now, if you'll excuse me, Miroku, I have to get to class." Inuyasha stepped over a gaping Kikyou and headed for his next class.
.:.After School.:.
The rest of the day had gone by pretty uneventful, except for the fact that Kikyou had glared daggers at him every chance she got, while Inuyasha ignored her.
He collected the homework he needed from Sango, got into his car, and headed for her house. Parking in his grandmothers driveway, he got out, and headed next door to her shrine.
He knocked on the door, only to have it immediatly wrenched open by an upset and disheveled-looking Kagome. He blinked. "Whats wrong?"
She narrowed her eyes at him. "I'm sick and Yasha's missing, not that you care." she spat at him.
'Shit.' Inuyasha mentally cursed. "Hey! I do too care! I even gathered up your homework!" Inuyasha brandished the papers at her.
Kagome gave him a suspicious look before accepting the papers and looking at them to confirm that they were indeed her homework papers. When she found they were, she invited him in.
Inuyasha entered the house and sat down at the kitchen table. He was concerned when Kagome sat herself down, looking wistfully around.
"Whats wrong?" he asked again. She glared at him.
"I already answered that." she snapped, then looked guilty.
"I'm sorry, I'm just not feeling good." Kagome said, rubbing her forehead. Inuyasha nodded, and racked his brains for something that might cheer her up, something that would make her smile.
"Erm...I think Yasha is at my grandmothers, but I...uh...promised to help her with some yardwork." he invented quickly. "I'll send him over and see you later, ok?"
"Ok, bye Inuyasha."
"Bye."
He exited the house, then dashed across the yard, flew into his grandmothers house, and immediatly tried to think of something to get himself to change, all the while yelling for his grandmother.
"Yes, child?"
"I have to change into a dog and go over to Kagome's. Can you cover for me?"
"Sure thing child."
"Thanks." With that Inuyasha transformed into a dog, and ran outside, heading for Kagome who had just come out of her house.
"There you are Yasha! Hey, come with me sweetie, I just remebered,"
"I forgot to thank Inuyasha!"
