The Friends He Owns
An orange haired young girl sat on a couch, looking though the window as if the world was her own. She smiled playfully to the blue sky. It seemed to be a bright day for people around her, but she knew things that they did not.
She surely did.
The sky started to get darker and darker like death. Her worries bothered her time, even though books were on her laps.
She sighed. She heard footsteps and closed the window.
Zoro came to the room, grumping along. He put his swords down, and started exercising with anything he could find. He lifted some books, some chairs, boxes, desks, and anything around that was available.
Nami smiled. What kind of a person is he? Tough and strong, seems like no one can ever touch his heart. His face always looks cruel; he talks whatever in mind, and has no regards for anyone but himself.
Nami chuckled. The captain touched his heart once, she said to herself.
She then remembered. For about no long time ago, the captain lent her his hat and gave her trust to the fullest he could ever do. And he did touch her heart, with the same touch he did to Zoro.
Nami smiled. She smiled for what he has done for all of them, she smiled for who she was now, she smiled for she was working for him, and she smiled, because she was his friend.
Nami looked around. She realized that everyone was in the room, all warm and safe.
She looked at them silently, they were all happy and jolly. Zoro, Ussop, Sanji, Chopper… and me. Whose heart wasn't touched by you, Luffy? I wonder…
No one's.
"Nami, come sit with us! We're playing a game!" The captain reached out his hand to the navigator.
Ah. This is just the same feeling as it was before.
She took his hand and sat next to him.
Was this feeling here before? She risked a nod to herself.
Ah, yes, it was here. And it is here.
Luffy tapped her shoulder and smiled at her, telling her that it was her turn.
She gazed through him before she took her time, and smiled.
She knew that everyone in the room had the same feeling toward him, the very same feeling. He was the light in the dark, and he would always be.
He taught them friendship and hopes, he touched their hearts and held their hands.
And if now he gazes through us, he will see…
That the friends he owns, are looking at him with the look I am giving him now, and the friends he owns, are giving him the fullest trust to him as I do, and will always do.
