I don't own Hunter x Hunter.
As they walked to Gon-knows-where, Killua hadn't bothered asking and didn't really care where they were heading, Gon lead them with Killua ten steps back.

The first glace back was normal, a quick glance and a nervous smile when Killua caught on.

The second had been a bit stealthier; Killua noticed too soon for Gon to react and smirked at him.

The third glace had him wanting to turn around and look his best friend in the eyes.

Killua sighed, exasperated, as Gon continued to shoot questioning glances his way.

"What do you want!"

Gon kept his eyes on the dirt path in front of him. Killua quickened his pace until it matched Gon's own. They walked silently for a few moments before Gon once more glanced over at Killua. Only, Killua noticed, this glace was fully of worry.

"What're ya? Afraid I'm gonna leave you?"

Killua sighed, holding up his hands in faux defeat.

Gon's abrupt halt and Killua bumping into the back of him gave him the answer loud and clear.

Killua blinked. The vein in his forehead twitched.

"BAKA!"

The scream was followed by a whack to the head and an annoyed Killua looming over Gon.

"But you said…"

Gon's bottom lip sunk just a little, he was still worried apparently.

"I SAID that I wasn't bringing you with me to buy chocolates anymore, not that I wasn't going to stay with you anymore."

"…oh"

Was all Gon could manage as he picked himself off the ground.

"If we don't hurry we won't get to Mika-san's in time."

Gon looked at Killua, wondering how he knew where they were going, before remembering that this is Killua, and Killua knew everything that Gon knew. More or less anyway.

Gon started walking again, Killua dropping ten steps behind him once more.

For the rest of the day Gon didn't sneak glances at Killua.

He decided that Killua would be there whether he looked or not, because Killua had said that he would be and he trusted Killua.
