Hi, guys. I decided to try my hand at poetry and came up with this little piece. Basically it's about the departng of the Elves and the end of the war against Sauron. Please review and tell me what you think. Feel free to give me advice on how to fix it if you wish. Thanks.

New Beginnings

Many countless years have passed,
Since Earendil's ship's first hoisted mast,
Elven customs now almost forgotten,
Are as frail and weak as dwarven cotton.

Eru stands, so tall and bright,
In his fair city bathed in white light.
He welcomes his children, now home at last,
And forgets the troubles of ages past.

The age of men has now begun,
As fierce and strong as the shining sun.
With King Elessar and his Evenstar,
The once helpless race will go very far.

With East and West now united,
The race of men will not again be spited.
Two proud nations, have joined their forces,
Gondor's white tree and Rohan's fine horses.

The Elves have left for Valinor,
Their wisdom and beauty we will see no more.
The once great Elf-Lords have deserted their realms,
Like the human's who left their polished helms.

The war with Sauron cost us dear,
But no longer shall we live in fear.
The orcs no longer ravage the land,
There is no power under Saruman's white hand.

The evil is melting and goodness will reign,
Lives shall no longer be filled with pain.
Sheilds and spears have been set aside,
And Mordor will wash away with the water's strong tide.

The Elves have left us, that is true,
But an age full of peace has begun anew

By Mordor I do not necessarily mean the land that is Mordor. The phrase "Mordor will wash away with the water's strong tide" simply means that all the evil that was created and wreaked there will be forgotten and will once and for all stop poisoning life in Middle Earth.
