"You carry a Daemonicus child. You don't look their type. But this isn't the problem. The problem is that you are well guarded by junior. So when you have it, expect to see me."

The kitchen door opened and Spike entered. He stopped dead at the sight of Ally.

"You!" he snapped.

"William! So nice to see you… I wanna say alive, but that's would be incorrect."

Spike picked up the cutting knife off the kitchen bench. But before he could aim for a throw, Ally had her old western movie gun out and pointed at his head.

"Put it down, William. And you'll get to keep your brains." She said calmly.

Spike did as he was told. Trust Spike to not want to get shot. Besides, Buffy didn't know what would happen if a vamp got its head shot off. Maybe it would be the same as beheading.

"Get out of here, Ally. I mean it." Spike said coolly.

Ally smiled, "Ok." That was easy. She turned to Buffy. "See you in two months."

And with that she left.

"Wow." Said Lilith. "You guys didn't tell me you knew a Yukshia."

…And now the conclusion

It has been exactly three months since the bomb hit. Buffy found herself bursting out of the seams. She thought that if this had been a normal situation everyone would have been delighted that the big day was near. But it wasn't a normal situation, and the big day was like a bomb that couldn't be disarmed. And couldn't predict what would happen when the countdown reached zero. All they could do was wait and hope that whatever Buffy was carrying would be somewhat natural. The worst that could happen is it would be born with horns.

"You never know." Lilith said that night. "Daemonicus can take many forms. It may have horns. Or a tail. Or two heads. They're like a Kinder Surprise, you never know what ya gonna get." They were all at the magic shop studying anything that could be found on a Yukshia. So far all they got was 'demon'.

Giles slammed the book shut. "You know, Lilith, for a goddess slash demon you're sure are informative. But sadly it's only when suits you."

Lilith nodded and smiled. "Like the great God would say 'what's the point of free will if ya want me to do everything for you.'"

"Gretchen said God was a woman." Tara said over a book.

"Yeah, and Gretchen thinks that happiness grows on trees. I wouldn't trust the word of a Mongrel Demon."

The gang decided that if Lilith had something important to add, she could do so when she was ready. Lilith must have felt the same way, because amazingly she shut up.

After days of studying, Giles became angry when Lilith suggested a book on ancient mythical lands and their deities. The damn book had a whole page dedicated to the Yukshia.

"Apparently, they were said to be the offspring's of the great gods that sunk Atlantis. They have incredible power that they share with a dead's man soul." Giles quoted. "I wonder what that means."

This time Lilith surprised everyone with her selected knowledge. "It means that they will show their true power than kill ya. They're very sensitive on the show and tell."

Giles let out a cry of frustration. "Ok, if you know something about this girl why are you not sharing?"

Lilith shrugged, "'Cos you guys are doing a wonderful job doing it yourself. Plus I'm only allowed to help, as in guide, not do. Also, I know nothing about her. Only on Yukshia."

"So why did you let us spend precious time finding information on them when you could have told us what we need to know."

Lilith only smiled.

"I know her." Said Spike. "Before I became a vampire."

"So you knew her personally?" Buffy asked. "Before you died?" Spike nodded.

"How so?"

Spike looked uncomfortable. He shifted from one foot to the other as he thought of the right way to put his words. Finally he turned to Buffy.

"You know that story I told you about my life before I became a vampire."

Buffy nodded, "You mean Cecily and your poetry."

Xander snorted, "You wrote poetry." He laughed.

Spike got defensive then. "That story I told you was a lie. There was no Cecily and I wasn't a poet. Though I did write a bit, but it was the late 18 hundreds, everyone wrote poetry or did something artsy. The main thing is I lied. My real life had to do with that girl."

"You see. I was married once. Had a wonderful wife and I had a great job. I was a doctor." Xander snorted again and Willow slapped his arm. Spike continued. "She was pregnant, we were to have twins. The night of the birth something happened, something wrong. The two girls were different somehow, unlike any babies that I delivered. My wife was very ill from that day forth. She died when the girls were four. My twin girls, we named Callie and Alyson. Callie left home when she was 13 years old. They were evil. When Ally was 14, she ran away. Horrible things would happen in town. Unexplained murders. Once she came home covered in blood. I didn't say anything to Scotland Yard because she was my daughter. One day I confronted her. She morphed into a glowing being radiating bright light. She was gone after that."

"What didn't you say something earlier?" Giles asked.

Spike shrugged, "I just hoped that she would get bored and leave. She's like that. Than Buffy wouldn't have to go after her."

No, Buffy thought. She will come after me.

Everyone was silent after that. Buffy couldn't believe it. Spike with kids. One of his kids had tried to kill her and is still planning on killing her. No one said anything as they all headed off to their homes. Lilith walked home with Buffy. Not one word was spoken between them although Buffy's mind was filled with strange thoughts while Lilith seemed to be in another world.

Since Spike's storytelling, he decided not to show his face for a few days. Buffy couldn't believe that he had lied to her about his past. But Spike with kids! Now that was worth a smile. She tried to imagine what Spike would be like as a dad. She mused herself while she took a stroll in Sunnydale's only park.

The days were still calm and beautiful. Spring was out doing itself this time. The day couldn't get any better. She stopped by the man-made duck pond and started to do normal girly things; examining all the hotties wandering around. There was the cute one with a boyish grin playing with his dog. Another with rippling muscles doing some push ups. There was one even reading a book. Boy, Buffy thought, this must be some natural habitat for men or something. I need to get out during the sunny hours to catch a good man.

"Ah! Found you!" this came from Buffy's new shadow, Lilith.

"I wasn't aware that we were playing hide and go seek!" Buffy said sarcastically. Lilith shrugged and plopped herself down next to the pregnant slayer.

"Look, why are you so desperate to get rid of me? You know, I can be quite useful." She said this in her matter-of-fact tone.

Buffy snapped at the purple headed goddess. "You haven't been useful of late. And if you are, it's only when you wanna be!"

Lilith and Buffy sat in silence for a few seconds. Than Lilith said, "You know, I would love to be able to tell you what you want to know, but it's not that simple. I have people I have to answer to and they say what I can and cannot say. I'm just doing what I'm told."

She looked around the park and it's wildlife of men. "But I can do some things, like handle this." She nodded down at Buffy's swollen belly.

Buffy felt that she was just getting bigger by the minute. It seemed only yesterday she had her flat tummy from years of slaying and cheerleading practice. Now she looked like she swallowed a bowling bowl.

"Everything hurts!" she sobbed to Lilith. Surprisingly the goddess scooted over to sit closer to her and but her arm around Buffy's shoulders. Buffy accepted it and started to cry.

"Look, honey. I know. I've had hundreds of children. I know what to expect. But I'll tell you one thing. When you hold junior in your arms and see him for the first time. See him smile. You'll know that it will all be worth it. Giving life is the greatest thing that you can do. It's a gift. A gift that only women can give. You'll understand soon."

For the first time Lilith had arrived, Buffy felt that she had finally given some decent advice.

The two sat silently in the park till the sun started to set.

"We should start heading back." Lilith announced as she got up and offered Buffy a hand. Buffy nodded and started to get up when she felt a strong pain shooting through her lower abdomen. "Ahh!" she cried as she doubled over from the pain. Lilith was already at her side. "Look, sweetie! Your water just broke."

A little while later Buffy found herself at the hospital with her mother and her friends. The contractions were getting closer and closer together.

"Everything is as it should be, Miss Summers." The nurse said calmly. "Now, don't you worry."

But Buffy was worried. What if Damian came to collect the child? What if he was in the waiting room at this very moment? But Lilith had reported that there was no sign of Damian or his family anywhere.

"Everything's fine, honey." her mother said, caressing her face. "Just fine."

For some reason, Buffy felt safer. She didn't know if it was Lilith being body guard at the door, or that she was with her friends. Or just the fact that her mother said everything was going to be fine.

The contractions were really close together when Buffy felt a different pain. It was like severe sharp pains in-between and during the contractions. The nurse couldn't figure it out. "I'll just get the doctor. Wont be a tick." And she hurried out the door.

"Mom, I'm scared. What's happening?"

Joyce looked stricken. "I don't know, honey. It's probably nothing the doctors can't handle."

Buffy looked to Lilith. "I wanna know what's happening to me?" she said to her.

The goddess looked out the door for the last time than closed it. She walked over to the group and said in a whispered tone. "Junior's getting restless. If you don't give birth soon, it'll rip its way out of you." Buffy looked at her as if she were joking. She didn't look like was joking.

"What about Buffy?" Joyce said.

"She'll die."

A different nurse returned a few moments later and said that Buffy will have to be brought to the O.R. and prepped for a c-section. Buffy was scared out of her mind. She would have to go alone. "Don't worry, honey. We'll be just here." Her mother yelled after Buffy as the nurse speed her off.

The nurse took her through corridors and corridors and Buffy felt like she would never reach the O.R. in time. She could feel her child clawing its way through her gut.

"Miss, are we nearly there?" asked Buffy. But the nurse never answered. She just push Buffy's bed through another door and out into a parking lot at the back of the hospital. The nurse quickly started to strap Buffy to the bed. "Hey?" Buffy shouted at her and tried to get away. But the nurse was too strong and at that moment another contraction hit. The nurse strapped her in good and tight. That's when two others arrived. One other female and the vamp Buffy had chased ages ago. Ally's vamp that lead her into a trap. These were Ally's goons.

The vamp took out a small leather case from his jacket pocket and opened it. From it he produced a syringe filled with bright yellow liquid and handed it to the nurse. "Don't you even think about sticking that thing in me. I have a this thing about needles." But they didn't listen. Buffy felt herself get light headed and woozy, than the world went black.

"Gee, I hope Buffy's alright." Willow sighed.

"She will be," replied Xander. "She's a tough girl, our Buffy is."

Joyce and Willow smiled. "Well, I tell you one thing," said Anya. "I'm not changing any poopie diapers." Everyone just stared at her. "What?" she said defensively. "I'm not!"

The door opened and the nurse who said she getting the doctor returned, with the doctor. She looked around room confusingly. "Where is she?" asked the doctor. "She was here a minute ago." Replied the nurse. She turned towards Joyce. "Where's your daughter?"

"She went with a nurse to the O.R. for a c-section." Joyce told them.

"There is no pregnant girl in the O.R." the doctor said.

The group looked at on another. "Than who took her?" Willow said out loud. Lilith ran out the door.

"Oh, no…" Giles aid softly to himself than he and Xander took off after Lilith.

Lilith ran out to the parking lot behind the hospital. It was empty except for Buffy's bed. On the ground was some tire marks. Whoever took Buffy sure left in a hurry. The door behind her burst open and Giles and Xander emerged. "She's gone." Was all Lilith said to them.

"Gone? Who? Where?" Giles demanded of her. But Lilith seemed to be off in another world. Giles grabbed he shoulder and spun her around. "Tell me, Lilith. Please, no more riddles."

Lilith shook her head. "I'm sorry; I don't know where she is."

Then a bright light appeared and a shining, white woman materialized in front of them with a tall man with bright blue eyes and huge feathery wing on his back.

"I know where she is." She told them.

"Who are you?" Giles asked her. Xander just stood there and gaped.

"I suppose I should tell you." She said with a sad look on her face.

Buffy opened her eyes to find herself in a huge warehouse. Vamps were scattered here and there; some playing cards or talking among themselves. All were staring at her. She turned her head and came face to face with a pair of long, pale legs in denim hot short. She followed the legs up to the black tee to the face. The face she had dreaded to see (after Damian's) it was Ally.

"Hello, luv." She said sweetly as she knelt down to Buffy. It was then Buffy realized that she was tied to a pole. "Have a nice nap."

Buffy spat in her face. Ally didn't look amused, but a few of her flunkies snickered. She turned to them and they stopped. She turned back to Buffy and back-handed her. The blow left stars in her eyes. But she laughed. "You can't kill me. My child protects me." Then the contractions hitted home. Not now, Buffy thought. Oh, god. No now.

"Baby wont help you for long." Ally smiled and pointed to Buffy's stomach. Buffy looked to where she pointed and screamed with horror; it looked as if something was trying to get out of her and that's when she realized; her baby was gonna come out; alien style.
