Summary: A one shot fic of what Kurama and Hiei went through after the last tournament.

They promised each other that they would remain allies after the Demon World Tournament. Allies and nothing more.
After Hiei promised to stay with Mukuro as her second in command, and Kurama gave up his demon side to stay in the Ningen world, they promised each other to stay friends. Frineds and nothing more.
Nothing was said between them, it was a silent promise that only they could comprehend, but it wasn't one tha twould last.
After some time, Hiei and Mukuro finally married and Kurama married a young girl from college, but both demons longed for something else, something they couldn't have.
Whenever Hiei embraced Mukuro at night, he secretly wished to see that long, red hair in front of him, with those eyes that held love and acceptance looking straight into his soul.
And as Kurama awoke each morning to see the face of his bride, he secretly desired to wake up one morning to see the face of the demon that had protected him, and understood his past.
Both of them were bound. Bound by the repressed love that they had to keep secret. Bound to their new lovers that knew nothing of the feelings that they held, and bound to the silent promise they made to each other, to remain allies and friends, and nothing more.
Both of them wanting to be with the other, yet neither of them knew of the others desire, and so they remained bound to a promise,a promise that neither of them wanted to keep but yet one that they knew they now had to.
