Author's Random Stuff You Might Want To Read;
LOL hahahahah I love the reviews you guys but yeah I'd like to clear things up, I swear to Bob not even twenty minutes after I posted this I found an AWESOME fanfic that had the girl OC as the daughter of John Allerdyce (Pyro from X-Men) and I was like "Oh motherfudger" cause I didn't want to bite off of it or have my story in any way similar so the whole 'she is the daughter of pyro' thing probably won't be in the story (I wasn't really planning on it, lol she's just modeled after him cause I love his character) annd I think there was something else but I can't remember… oh wellzies THANKS FOR THE REVIEWS YOU GUYS! Now on with the story…
OHWAITNOWIREMEMBER! HAHAHAHA The Romeo & Juliet thing? Yeah I put that in cause I'm currently reading Romeo & Juliet in my English class and was like "Wouldn't it be funny if…" plus Warren looks like the deep writer type in the movie, like he'd read that stuff for fun or something but yeah I understand how that threw you guys off and I laugh as I picture the faces of everyone reading it so thanks for staying with the story still! NOW on with the story X
Chapter TRES
The next couples of days went by uneventful. Gabby and everyone else got closer and it wasn't long before she was warmly welcomed into their tight knit group. They invited her to movies and other peoples houses to do homework even though they all didn't have the same classes they still got work done and had fun. Gabby got to know Layla and Magenta a lot more and was glad to once again have female friends that she could talk to about feminine things. She also hung around with Ethan and Zach a lot because they liked to make her laugh and they were a lot of fun to be around, Zach always jokingly flirted with her but she knew that his heart was set on going out with the ever so stubborn Magenta. Will, Ethan, and Zach liked to think themselves somewhat as a big brother figure for the other girls in the group (except of course for Will when it came to Layla because their bond ran stronger than that) so Gabby finally began to feel happy and content. The only person Gabby hadn't really gotten any closer to was Warren. That boy, she thought is an enigma. Since Gabby's class was a lot closer to the cafeteria than she really thought she learned that she would always be the first one at the table besides Warren and even though they had a total of 1.325534530 minutes together before everyone else came they were seconds wasted because neither of them felt the need to really talk or get to know each other because they were either too shy (not likely) or uninterested (even more unlikely). Besides those two pathetic reasons the pair could not come up with any other excuse to not talk to the other person until the group came. Because of this Gabby ended up knowing more about everyone else than about the guy that she thinks she has a brush on, and it was starting to frustrate her.
Which is exactly why on Friday afternoon she crashed her tray onto the table to get his attention and then gave him a friendly smile, "Hey Warren." He gave her a nod to show he heard her before turning back to his novel making her frown, this is going to be harder than I thought, damn me for not being a conversationalist! "Watcha readin?"
This time when Warren looked up he gave her a curious look, for the past four days they seemed to have had a silent agreement not to talk before everyone else got there lest it make things awkward and she was breaking it. When all he got in return was a blank stare from a girl who seemed to actually be interested in what he was going to say next he heaved a sigh like it was the hardest thing he's ever had to do in his life and showed her the cover.
Romeo and Juliet.
Gabby's eyebrows shot up as she looked back from the cover of the book to Warren's face which seemed to have adopted a very agitated look, "Look-"
"Two households both alike in dignity, In fair Verona where we lay our scene, From ancient grudge break to new mutiny, Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean From forth the fatal loins of these foes, A pair of star cross'd lovers take their life."
Now it was Warren's turn to be surprised, though he tried very hard not to show it, and Gabby just giggled a little, "I had to read it for English too. Don't worry, I'm not questioning your manhood or anything." And with that their 1.325534530 minutes alone was up as Zach and Ethan plopped down on either side of her and began chatting away.
"Did you memorize that whole freaking play?" Zach asked looking at her incredulously making Gabby giggle some more.
"Just because you're illiterate doesn't mean everyone else has to be, maybe she likes reading stuff like that," Magenta interrupted defending Gabby and making a jab at Zach at the same time.
Zach just rolled his eyes and said, "You know you love me," making Magenta blush and look away as Gabby giggled even harder.
"He's got you there," she said pointing her spork at her.
"Don't you point your spork at me missy!"
Gabby's eyes widened, "Magenta… did you just say missy?" And she burst out laughing along with Zach while Magenta just made a 'hmph' noise and started playing with her food. Will and Layla finally showed up and any chance Gabby had of talking to Warren just to get to know him disappeared, this is so annoyingly cliché. I like the bad boy who could really care less, why oh why is it always the bad boy! WHY! If he was gay it would be so much easier for me to give up on him.
"Why can't you be gay?" Gabby unknowingly said out loud while stabbing viciously at her cafeteria food. When she lifted her head up everyone was staring at her including a curious looking Warren and it took her a while before she realized, "I just said that out loud didn't I?" They all nodded and she just shrugged, trying to make it look like it was no big deal even though it was pretty embarrassing for her. She looked up to see what Warren's expression was and saw already turning his attention back to Shakespeare, on the way back to murdering the mystery meat her eyes got locked onto Layla's who seemed to give her a knowing look. She switched her gaze to Magenta who seemed to be smirking, for the love of Bob did they catch that? Of course they did, they're girls.
Gabby gave her two girl-friends an I'll-Tell-You-Later look before turning back to the horrible massacre of the mystery meat, how do you get close to someone who doesn't want anyone close to him?
--------------
After school everyone decided to not waste the Friday and piled into Will's house to have a meeting in the living room and figure out (aka fight over) which movie to watch.
"I don't see why we cannot just watch the Discovery Channel," Ethan argued and everyone else just snickered and let Gabby let him down nicely.
"Hun it's cause no one but you wants to watch it, we're gonna take a majority vote, kay?" Ethan nodded slowly but still pouted and changed the TV station to the Discovery Channel until a decision was made.
"What about Troy?" Magenta asked.
"Why? So you can ogle at Brad Pitt's body?" Zach accused.
"OH! My vote is on Troy then," Gabby said giggling and giving Magenta a high five.
Zach shook his head disgusted, "What about the Grudge?" Everyone in the room groaned. And Warren, who hadn't really spoken up until then, said, "Listen Glow-Stick we have seen that movie a lot already, it's time to move on." Everyone murmured in agreement except for Gabby who looked confused since she hadn't been around long enough to know that whenever Zach and Magenta were going out he'd put in that movie she they'd have a chance to cuddle. "What about Texas Chainsaw Massacre?" He suggested in replacement of The Grudge.
"What about something NOT so violent or freakishly gory?" Gabby said wincing, "I'm not exactly a fan of gore."
"Ummm, I just got Blade Trinity. You guys wanna watch that?"
"BLADE TRINITY! I VOTE BLADE TRINITY!" Gabby was jumping up and down in excitement and everyone else looked on, amused.
"I thought you didn't like gore," Warren said.
"Blade Trinity does not have gore, it just has major vampire ass kicking. Magenta I think you'd love the movie PLUS Wesley Snipes is so great! OH YEAH And Ryan Reynolds is mad hot in it! He's got his shirt off and everything it's so awe-"
"Ookay that's enough of that," Zach said putting a hand over her mouth before she could continue on her Ryan Reynolds-is-so-hot spiel in front of Magenta. "Besides Layla is terrified of vampires anyway so that wouldn't be a good choice."
Gabby bit Zach's hand and he let go of her mouth with a girl squeal, "Oh my bad." Even though she knew he was just saying that so Magenta couldn't watch a hot guy on the television.
"I also have X-Men 2," Will said slowly, probably hoping Gabby wouldn't go off on another speech like the last time but she just looked at him blankly. "What you haven't seen it?" Another blank look. "That's so weird."
She rose an eyebrow, "Why?"
"Cause he figured you bit offa that fire dude in the movie," Zach explained and Gabby just shook her head.
"I haven't seen the first or the second one so I have no idea what you're talking about. Is it a good movie?" Apparently everyone else had already seen the movie because they all started nodding vigorously (well, everyone except for Warren who looked like he didn't care if they chose to watch Pretty Pink Princess just as long as they actually did something). "Okiedokey then let's watch it!"
Throughout the whole movie everyone pointed out to her about Pyro, John Allerdyce's, power and how he did the flippy lighter flicking thing that she did when she was bored and Gabby just laughed at how similar they were. Halfway through the movie she found that the seating order had changed; Zach was sitting next to Magenta on the bean bags, Layla was cuddling with Will on the loveseat, and Ethan, whose spot next to her on the ground in front of the couch was taken by Warren, was currently asleep with his mouth open and glasses partially off. Sitting next to Warren was doing strange things to her. Her heart felt like it was going a million miles a minute and she found her hopes soar high every time she saw him stretch his arms and then crash and burn as they fell back to his side. Like Warren Peace is going to pull the old Fake Stretch move, she thought to herself rolling her eyes at her own stupidity and she relaxed herself more against the couch. After the credits ended everyone got up and stretched, some yawning, and Gabby woke up Ethan.
For the rest of the night they decided to play some board games before everyone started leaving and other arrangements were made. Layla insisted having Magenta and Gabby spend the night while Will made sure that the guys could spend the night at his house. After everyone got the 'okay' from their parents the guys walked the girls to Layla's house, which was just next door, and then bid them goodnight. Once they were safely inside Layla's room and the door was shut securely behind them they finally pounced.
"You like Warren don't you?" Layla exclaimed excitedly jumping up and down on her bed and all Gabby could do was blush.
Magenta's smirk came back, "Aww. Now I can tease you. I wonder what would happen if he knew this piece of valuable information." Gabby's eyes widened.
"Oh Maj you can't! We're hardly even friends yet! I don't want him to know I have a crush on him already! I want to just get to know him first and then maybe I'll let him know." The other two in the room started to stare and it freaked Gabby out a little bit, "What?"
Layla gave her a genuine smile, "It's just nice to know there's a girl out there who would want to actually get to know Warren, and not just get in his pants."
"Isn't it the guy getting in the girl's pants?"
"That's besides the point," Layla said waving her hand dismissively at Gabby's remark. "It's just that his previous girlfriend, total bitch, dumped him in the end of our sophmore year el ano pasado." Gabby's eye brows rose in curiosity. "He'd been with her since Freshman homecoming, so I'm guessing that was a little over a year. Anywho I think it ended up with the fact that Melinda just wanted to you know, tame him so she could say that she did." She shook her head, "Horrible thing too cause Warren actually liked her. He hasn't dated anyone since. He's gotten a lot of offers but yeah, that whole experience makes him kind of wary when it comes to girls."
Gabby looked at her friends miserably, "So then there's no hope for me then! He doesn't even talk to me as it is." Oh my god I'm acting like such a love sick little middle schooler!
Magenta just grinned back at her, "We'll help you of course!"
"Yeah! Oooh this'll be so much fun! We should plot a lot- oh wow that rhymed!" Layla giggled. "Let's come up with a codename for him."
"Pyro?"
The other two looked at Gabby like she was stupid, "Maybe not something so obvious."
"Fluffy muffin?" Magenta got a weird look for that one and there was a five second pause before the guessing continued at full speed with the weirdest names.
"Unicorn?"
"Fairy."
"Butterfly!"
"Idiot."
"Rainbow!"
"Raisin bran"
"PICKLE!"
The game continued before they were just shouting random things and cracking up about them. In the end they chose 'unicorn' since it was such an un-Warren thing.
"How about Operation Gabby-Rides-the-Unicorn?" Magenta, ever the perverted one, suggested. Layla and Gabby looked at each other before bursting out laughing and Magenta looked proud, "Operation: GRU it is then." After a couple more hours of talking – I say it'll be another day or so before Zach finally breaks and asks you out… AGAIN – and some very important life or death questions – Donald's a duck, Mickey's a mouse, what the hell is goofy? – the three got very tired and fell asleep.
