I came up with this a month ago. It was a short little drabble, but I wanted to rewrite it and make it better. So I did. Kinda cheesy, but oh well! I hope this is decent work at least.

Chocolate.

Kairi was biting into said bar. School started a few days ago and she was still trying to get used to it. As she bit into the sweet substance again Kairi reminisced about a boy—Sora. She had forgotten details about him, some were fuzzy at best, but she could hold onto his name, for now, at least.

She took another bite of chocolate. She loved chocolate. She seemed to always have a bar at her side when she needed it. It made her forget all her worries. Just bite and forget, simple, right?

She looked at the brown bar in front of her. It was half gone. Though, the brown did remind her of something. Or… someone.

Sora…

Oh yes, chocolate was brown, and Sora was… well, had brown hair. She tried to compare the two for some reason. After all, she did have time to kill.

Sora was always there for her.

Was…

Chocolate… it was in her hands right now, right?

Right.

But Sora couldn't help it. He has to… to…

Even that detail had slowly crawled away from her mind.

Kairi had taken a seat on the old Paopu tree. It seemed like so long since she last sat here. She could almost, almost, remember his smile.

Sora… could smile, couldn't he?

Chocolate can't.

Sora talked. He even said a few things before that made her want to melt.

Chocolate just melts.

Sora wouldn't leave her. He didn't want, and neither did she.

Chocolate would leave. Into your mouth or melt to the ground. Whichever came first.

Sora wanted to spend their whole lives together.

Well, she had to admit. That was just speculation. But considering the legend of the Paopu fruit and that drawing in the Secret Place…

Chocolate didn't; again with the melting.

Sora had feelings, cared.

Chocolate wasn't even alive. It just tasted good.

What would Sora…?

Kairi blushed then shook her head furiously.

She had memories of Sora… memories that were fading quickly.

She could remember chocolate as clear as day; it was in her hand.

Memories of playing under the Sun…

Of tag…

Of swimming…

Of laughter…

Of the Secret Place…

Chocolate was short and sweet.

Sora was long lasting.

Kairi giggled at her pathetic pun. From her little adventure she had learned what good chocolate was for: melting, eating, just sitting there, being short, and tasting good.

For Sora… there was just so much more.

Kairi loved chocolate.

But there was just a certain lazy bum out there that didn't really have any competition.

She ate chocolate to try to forget. Why did she ever think that was a good idea?

She threw the bar into the ocean.

She was going to the Secret Place. She needed to see something to remember him by…

Yay! It is done! Please review! I would like to know if it's a horrible piece of literature that should never have seen the light of day or if it's decent. Either can be expected from me so I won't take it badly.
