Yeah, back after too long. My bad. Oh well, here it is.
Disclaimer - This is going to be for the whole story. I DO NOT OWN ANIMORPHS.
"Full emergency power to the engines. Ram the Blade Ship."
A pause, then the accelerator was pushed and I was physically forced back into my chair. Space whirred by outside the cockpit as the Blade Ship filled our view.
In the scant reflection offered by the clear porthole I saw Marco, mouth open wide, trying to scream, but the force of acceleration drove any air out of his lungs. Beyond the reflection I saw the Blade Ship shimmer, then disappear.
I panicked. Reaching forward with all of my effort, I turned off Maximum Burn. Instantly all of us were thrown forward against our constraints, to be snapped back again in a horrible interpretation of the Law of Whiplash.
I turned around, as much in a vain attempt to see if the Blade Ship was behind us as to check on my fellow Animorphs and our Andalite friends.
Cassie was unconscious from fright, her head lolling to the side in a strangely peaceful way. Rachel was quiet with excitement, the look she always used to get before battle. Marco, however, was anything but quiet.
"YOU FREAKIN' IDIOT! WHY WOULD YOU DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT!" He didn't say anything after that, just breathed hard and stared at me bewildered and malevolent.
I ignored him, for we had more serious issues. I looked around for Menderash, the Andalite who had told us of Ax's capture. He was sprawled against a bulkhead; legs splayed every which way and tail hanging almost comically above his head. He groaned and lifted his stalk eyes, groggily coming to.
The others were gathering their senses and warily talking to each other, occasionally glancing out the view port. "Menderash? Menderash? Did you see what just happened?"
Menderash looked disorientated, and then nodded, a habit that he picked up while on Earth.
"Can you explain it?"
(No.)
"Oh. Okay."
BWAHAHAHA! The booming voice of The One filled the cockpit, making me flinch in expectation. YOU DARE TRY TO DESTROY ME, FOOLISH MORTALS?
"This guy has jumped about six notches on the insane scale," muttered Marco, rolling his eyes and shaking his head.
AND DO NOT BELIEVE I DO NOT SEE YOU, MEDDLING ANDALITES! THIS MEANS WAR! I, THE ONE, RULER OF KELBRIDS, WILL FIRST DESTROY ALL ANDALITES, AND THEN WILL ELIMINATE THE HUMANS!
With that, a blaze of light rocketed past the Soufflé, rocking the smaller ship and knocking us out of the seats and onto the deck.
(What did he mean, ruler of Kelbrids?) Tobias, quiet since we first moved, voiced the question.
I couldn't help but wonder, but the answer was obvious. The One was the ruler of the Kelbrids. So the Kelbrids had kidnapped Ax? But why?
Cassie spoke up after wiping drool from her now awake face. "What do we do now?"
"We go kick their butts, of course!"
"Ohh, what a shocker, Rachel takes the violent way." Marco tilted his head to the side. "But I can't help but to agree with her." I smiled. Just like old times.
"Menderash?"
(Well, sir, I believe that when the council hears of this revelation, they will declare war on the Kelbrids. So it does not matter if we go into their space, not anymore.)
"Good, then it's settled. We're going to follow the Blade Ship."
We were going to war.

Author's note: Well, there you go. Chapter One, Pt. 2. Please tell me what you think.
P.S. I know it's short. I wrote as a prologue-type-deal, just to get the ol' juices flowing.
