In Palo Alto, California, the man sighed and hung up his cellphone. He was about five-three with chestnut hair. His name was Nicholas Rawlings.

"Nick, did you reach him?" a woman asked, approaching him. Her name was Kelly Moore. She was a little taller than Nick with wavy blonde hair and hazel eyes.

"Yeah, I reached him. But he didn't believe me," Nick responded.

"Why? What'd you say?" Kelly wondered.

"I told him I something for him from Jess," Nick answered. Kelly smacked him over the head.

"Well, no wonder, you dummy! You can't just call up someone and say, 'Hey, I got something from your dead girlfriend'. I told you I should've handled this," she scolded.

"Oh, yeah. Then you could've had that lovely chat with his roommate," Nick said sarcastically. For a moment, she was confused. Roommate? Why would Sam have a roommate? Then she remembered what Jess had told her. Sam's brother had gotten him when their dad went missing on a hunting trip.

"That would be his older brother, Dean," Kelly stated. She blew out an irritated breath. "I don't---I don't believe this! Do you even realize how imperative it is that Sam Winchester remains alive?" she asked angrily.

"I---" Nick began to defend himself.

"Where were they last?" Kelly interrupted.

"There was a report about some strange stuff in an asylum in Rockford, Illinois," Nick recalled.

"Get in the car. We're going to Illinois," Kelly snapped. With that, she turned on her heel and stomped over to her car, a light blue 1971 Stingray Corvette. Angrily, she got into the driver's seat. Nick followed her and got into the passenger seat. She turned the ignition and they whizzed down the road as "Born To Be Wild" by Steppenwolf played.
