DISCLAIMER

Supernatural belongs to the WB. I only own Nick, Kelly, and anything else you don't recognize.

Minutes later, Sam and Dean arrived at the first house in town. Sam knocked on the door, which was opened to reveal a blonde-haired woman.

"Yes, may I help you?" she asked.

"I'm Sam. This is Dean. We were just wondering if you had noticed anything unusual in the past few days," Sam said.

"Well, other than those strange dog attacks, no," the woman replied.

"Yeah, we heard about those. Um, out of curiousity, have any of the local kids been acting unusual?" Sam queried. She frowned. Then, "Well...Steve Greer has been been acting a bit off."

"How so?" Dean wondered.

"He's become withdrawn, won't speak to anybody, he's cranky..." the woman trailed off.

"Sounds like your typical teenager," Dean stated.

"Well, normally, I'd agree, but he won't even talk to his friends. And his parents checked for drugs and alcohol, but there was nothing," the woman told them.

"Hmm. Well, thank you for your time," Dean said.

"Anytime," the woman replied. Sam and Dean walked off.

"We should check with some of the other neighbors, see if their stories jive," Dean said.

"Yeah," Sam agreed. With that, they went throughout the neighborhood. Everywhere they checked, the story was the same: Steve Greer had changed for the worse. He kept to himself, stopped talking to his friends, and would lash out verbally.

"It's a shame. He used to be such a nice boy too," an elderly woman said, shaking her head in sorrow.

"Well, I'm sure he still is. I'm pretty sure this is all just a big misunderstanding and he'll be back to normal in no time," Dean assured her. "Sammy, let's go," he continued.

"Dude, it's Sam," his brother corrected, following his brother. What they didn't know was that at that time, Nick and Kelly had just entered Texas. They had checked the newspapers for the information on the dog attacks and had come to the same conclusion as the brothers.

"Okay, definitely a werewolf. They probably would've talked to the locals," Kelly determined. With that, she dragged him into town. Once there, they talked to some of the residents who told them the same things that been said to Sam and Dean.

"Thank you for your time," Kelly said. Then, she and Nick went to a hotel, where they bought a room. That night, Sam and Dean searched the woods.

"You know, if we're right, and Steve Greer is the werewolf...he's probably freaked out of his mind right now," Sam stated.

"Yeah," Dean agreed. "That's why when we find this kid, we gotta keep him calm. Help him understand what the heck's happenin' to him," he continued. They heard rustling.

"There," Sam whispered urgently. Dean turned in the direction of the noise. The rustling came again. The two tensed.

"Easy, easy. We don't wanna spook him," Dean cautioned.

"Come on out! We won't hurt you!" Sam called.

"Oh, like you ever could anyway," a voice responded with a laugh. Surprised, Sam and Dean watched as a guy and girl walked up to them.

"Hey, Sam," the girl greeted, hugging him.

"Kelly, wha---what are you doing here?" Sam wondered.

"I told you, Sam. I have something for you," Kelly answered.

"I---I don't have time for this. Dean and I need to---" Sam's sentence was cut off by a loud roar.
