ZN: Effing space key never worked right since I spilled blood on it...Another alternative pairing, created by Kizokuro and myself. Don't worry, I'm still going to finish Destruction plan. I own nothing except the pairing idea.

Arukenimon lays beside him, stroking his hair gently.
"Are you alright?" He asks, concerned as always.

Don't tell me you're falling for that hunk of junk?

"Yes, I'm fine." Her gloves are off, pale fingers entwining into golden hair.

Slow steady breathing is the only sound until she moves closer to lay against him conforming to his curves.

He moves a gentle armor released hand down her side.

"You're not hurt?"

The same unyielding concern from Mummymon frequently got him slammed into the nearest extremely hard object. She sighs, relaxing under her lover's touch.

"I'm with you. I'm perfect, Kuro-bito."

BlackWarGreymon nuzzles his head against hers. "Glad to hear it."

"Things are getting out of control."

His touch is a welcome reassurance that everything they do on the outside is a well-played act.

It was exhilarating earlier, saying the lines she had decided upon, seeing the shock and mischevious look in his eyes as he put on a wrathful facade and lifted her up as he had, oh but they could never know, so many times before.

"Are you alright?"

Again it is a routine she is comfortable with, and without thinking gives the answer she always does.

"I'm fine."

Only then does she wonder if it was the right answer today.

She runs her hand down his helmet, narrowingher own eyes in peace as he gives her a steady look of love.

They do not communicate much with words, but with feelings, and today heknowssomething is wrong.

But she comes to forget about it for however long she can, and hear his promises.

They do not talk about it, and instead he asks her the question, because he knows she would feel lost if it wasn't said.

"Are you alright?"

"I'm fine."

This time they both know it's a lie.

Sometimes the visits are long, sometimes sort, but the company is all she wants, and makes time to sleep in his prescence. They cannot say anything about it, if they did it would shatter their own small reality that wraps itself around them like a blanket. The closest they get before falling to the calmest time in their lives was "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine."
And an unspoken promise that the two of them alone shared.

She is alone. She knows it, and distances herself from everyone while walking back. She doesn't think she could even struggle enough to save herself from her fate ny more now that he's gone, and might not even try. Deeper than hollow she wails inside her mind, her mask of cool uncaring the onething that she despised so much now the only thing keeping her alive.

She remembers it all in a blur, occasionally accenting pieces and skipping others, a slightly changing loop.

Are you alright?

Choking back a sob, for the first time in her life she can say the truth.

"No."
