A Day and Life of the Gods
It was a normal day in heaven, or so Field Marshall Tenpou thought. He had a terribly boring meeting in the morning, which General Kenren "conveniently" forgot about, and a score of incompetent subordinates complaining to him about over-work, in which he pretended to ignore. Yes, it was a normal, perfectly fine-
"Tenpy! Tenpy! Konzen said I could go on a picnic with some friends! He even gave me a picnic basket! Want to come?" Now that was quite honestly, not normal.
"Goku! I said you could go on a picnic with one friend, not two stooges of the heavenly army!" Konzen was angrily stomping after Goku with Kenren not far behind, smirking.
"Why Master Konzen, I'm hurt, do you not think of me as a friend?" Kenren draped an arm over the steaming god's shoulders.
"DON'T TOUCH ME!" Kenren had to jump away carefully as not to knock over any expensive pots in the process of dodging Konzen's punch.
"Now, Now you two. Konzen, don't kill the general, and Kenren, why exactly do you like to rile him up so much?" Tenpou, the ever-mature one, interjected.
"Come on, come on! Let's go buy food for the basket! I'm starving!" Goku pleaded with glittery eyes.
"I knew I shouldn't have agreed to this." Konzen sounded irritable but was secretly glad that he got to spend time with Tenpou, in the presence of that idiot general or not.
"Yes, yes, you thought Goku was going to invite Nataku didn't you?" Tenpou laughed softly.
"Hn." Tenpou could read anybody's mind, making him infuriating and understanding at the same time
"But instead you got saddled with us two "stooges of the heavenly army" right?" Kenren's ever present smirk widened.
"Let's just go eat." Konzen was impatient to get out of the generals face. "I can't stand being with you two for more than two minutes." He then spotted out of the corner of his eye a look of hurt flicker over Tenpou's face. However, as quick as it came, the expression was gone.
Oh real smart Konzen; you just hurt your only friend's feelings. Konzen mentally berated himself.
They were going to eat out at the cherry blossom trees but there were too many people out there (Konzen was not going to be caught dead next to Kenren), so they went back to Konzen's office.
After lunch Kenren left with Goku leaving Konzen and Tenpou alone. Konzen was fidgeting slightly in his seat behind the desk.
"Look Tenpou, about what I said earlier, that I couldn't stand being with you two for more than two minutes, it was only meant for that stupid general." There, he said it.
"You know, a simple "I'm sorry about earlier" would have sufficed." Tenpou's smile never looked more real.
"Don't push it."
Outside, Kenren and Goku were eavesdropping on the two. " Ah, love is a wonderful thing."
"Huh?" Goku was confused.
"This isn't something little kids like you will understand."
