Now and For Always
PT 2.
He woke with a start the scream wanting to escape his mouth.
He was drenched in sweat and turned to see where he was. He reached out to the side of the bed.
It was empty.
He got up and ran to the nursery.
It was empty.
He started to take deep breaths.
Not wanting to fade out.
Not wanting this nightmare to be true.
He went to the living room with a cry that was ready to leave his lips at any minute but stopped when he saw her.
She was curled up on the couch with her hand on her stomach.
He fell to his knees in front of her relief washing over him like a warm caress.
It was another dream.
They became more frequent with her approaching due date.
He touched her to make sure she was real and not another illusion.
She stirred at his touch and opened her eyes.
She saw the tears there and cupped his face.
"Another nightmare?"
He nodded.
She pulled him to her and he let her warmth engulf him.
"I'm not going anywhere Jack. We're not going anywhere. Okay?"
He let the tears fall hearing what he needed to hear.
That he would never lose her that she would never willingly leave him.
That she was alive and safe.
"I Love you Sam. I love both of you more then life itself."
She smiled and took his hand.
"We love you too so, no more nightmares, only happy memories from now on Jack."
He kissed her and then her tummy.
"Yes Sam, now and for always."
