When I think about everything I did to her, it makes me sick. For so long Kagome waited, loved, and stood by my side while I stupidly ran around to Kikyo.
I guess I made her wait too long. And now it's too late.

I am full-on freakin' sobbing to the well, as if she'll come back.
"I love you Kagome. I love you so much it hurts." I cry and cry, knowing it won't work. She's so far away from me, but in my twisted head she can hear me.

A light flashes and I don't see it. A hand is on my shoulder, but I keep staring at the ground.
"Sango, go away. I don't want to go back to the village."
"Sango isn't my name."
My eyes open wide. It's her.
I turn and look up.
"I told you before Inuyasha. My name is Ka-go-me. Got it?"
I stand up and she moves out of my way. I look at her face. She was crying. The complete Shikon Jewel rests in her hand. She takes my hand and sets it in my palm. More tears gloss her perfect brown eyes.
"I think I might have taken something of yours."
My eyes open wide. I drop the jewel on the ground and I grab her arms, one in each of my hands.
"Inuyasha! What are you doing? Stop!" she looks up in my eyes, probably expecting to see red. "Please, don't do this. I'll leave; I just thought you would want it. Please let me go. Don't do this."
I hug her closely to me.
"I wanted…I wanted you to stay."
"Inuyasha…"
