The marriage of Jaclyn Marie Pierce and Benjamin Franklin Pierce is officially anulled on this day, August 30th, 1953.
I could hardly read that line because of my tears.
It'll be all right, I told myself. This was for the best. Spontaneous marriages never work. You're going back to Stockton, and pretty soon you'll have a baby, and then everything will be all right.
A baby. I would be an unwed mother in a town where gossip was like oxygen.
Mother would be pleased that I was now single. She'd be fixing me up on dates with Clark, and I would be civil, but I would never marry him. Part of me was still in Maine.
And it always would be.

A/N: There are so many people I want to thank! Here I go:
firebirdgal: Thank you for being my first reviewer for Crash! I've had a lot of happy writing.
Hawk's Soul: Thanks for the advice on anonymous reviews, and for your and Evie's enthusiasm!
4077hawk: I'm so happy that you like this story. I loved writing it.
Child of the Seine: Thank you for the spelling help (argh, my keyboardi is evil!). This story has moved along pretty fast, but I have some plans. I can't say what the are, or else it'll ruin the surprise
daydreaming38: Thank you so much for your review! It brightened up my Tuesday, which needed a lot of brightening up!
And a big thank you goes out to my readers! Even if this story is finished I always accept reviews!
Finally, here is a description of what Jaclyn looks like:
Reddish hair, 5'8 or 5'9, on the smaller side of medium-sized, light green-brown eyes with a touch of yellow, and freckles. (I based her off of a woman in a Suave ad.)
Goodbye, farewell, and amen.
