"Harry's off with Ginny again, you know," Hermione said to Ron, a small smile playing upon her face. She knew that Ron was still a little touchy about his best mate dating his little sister, but she needed desperately to break the awkward silence.
"Yeah, I know. What is it with them anyways? They're always giggling. My best mate shouldn't be giggling," he replied absentmindedly as he twirled a lock of red hair around his finger, his freckled hand obscuring Hermione's view of one of his brilliant blue eyes.
"That's what people do when they're in love. They spend time with each other and they giggle. It's a irrational, but completely normal. I think it's a little cute, too. They could be doing more than holding hands in the great hall and laughing obnoxiously,' she said with a wink and smirk. Her head cocked playfully to the right causing her brunette hair to part and reveal a small sparkling diamond earring.
"What! You don't know anything do you? You'd tell me if they were," his ears reddened as he dropped his voice and leaned closer too her, "you know, snogging?"
"I said that they could be doing more than giggling, yes I do know, and no I won't tell you," she said matter-of-factly. Hermione was building up to an unnessisary row with him, she could feel it and she knew that she shouldn't, but s part of her liked the way his ears (and his nose, if she really got him) would change color. "And what's so wrong about saying the word snog? It's not like you had any trouble doing it – all over the common room."
"I don't have any trouble saying it and that wasn't – I mean it was, but it wasn't," his voice drowned out. He had only you know- snogged- Lavender because Hermione had with Krum. His bottom lip tucked in and he scowled at the internal mention of Krum and Hermione.
"Nothing. I was just thinking," he said, avoiding her chocolate eyes, as he pouted his lip out desperately trying to rid his face of the scowl he felt inside.
Hermione was worried now. "Ron, I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings. It wasn't my place to-," and she to neglected to finish her sentence.
"You're damn right it wasn't his; it was mine," Ron muttered so low that he didn't think Hermione could hear him, but she had.
"What wasn't whose?"
He responded, looking at his hands angrily "You aren't K-," he began and he quickly shut his mouth when he realized what he was saying. His nose blushed.
"I'm not-." She motioned him to finish the sentence.
Ron looked at her. He'd definitely spent enough time in the past six years covering things up and without thinking enough to let himself talk himself out of it, he started talking. "You're not Krum's."
"No, I'm not. You aren't still upset about that, are you," she asked, perturbed.
" I was never his."
"I know. That's what I said."
"Then why are you making such a big deal out of this?"
"Because, I- Because." And Ronald Weasly failed to finish yet another sentence, but this time he finished the thought. Ron put his hand softly under her chin, pulled Hermione toward himself, and sweetly kissed her lower lip. She kissed him back and they kissed (most awaited for kiss ever in the history of kisses). Hermione smiled into the kiss and Ron giggled.
The kiss broke apart. "Did you just giggle," Hermione asked surprised.
"That's what people do when they're in love, right?"
The end.
It's a little rough, but whatever. I hope you liked it (even though it is so short) Please review!
