Chapter One
Wynn's tear streaked face watched the Union Rider go until her Petite Dragon made an eeping sound of alarm. Wynn looked down, and the fire was closing them in. Wynn jumped onto the dragon's back and they started ascending… but not fast enough. Wynn let go of the reigns and grabbed the purplish gray staff with a green jewel and lifted it upward. The wind moved up on her command and she and the Petite Dragon accelerated upward and away from the flames. Wynn looked down at the destroyed village, crying silently. She landed the dragon in a small clearing a little ways away from the town and they watched the flames lick at the buildings of her home. It burnt all night , finally dieing out in the early morning hours. Wynn got up from her spot on the ground, and walked across the land of ashes she once called her home. She dropped to her knees, sending ash flying into her eyes and all around her. The ashes cleared and her gray eyes were drawn to something pink sticking up from the ashes. She got up and walked over to it. Bending down Wynn pulled out a small stuffed rabbit that was remarkably unharmed.
"Lidia…" she whispered, hugging the pink animal. Her Petite Dragon hovered behind her, his head bent in sorrow. Everyone had died, and had left Wynn all alone. Wynn stuck the rabbit carefully in her coat pocket and looked at her dragon. "Come Mako." She called softly to him. The Petite Dragon came up to her and Wynn climbed wearily onto it's back once more. Her eyes were lit with the flame of revenge. "We go in search of the Union Rider…" Mako lifted off into the air, and the two made their way eastward, considerably slower than the Union Rider had.
