Winter Melts to Spring
By Hime Neko
In a world filled with color
And butterfly wings
There was a bright pink beauty
Called the Child of Spring
Though most knew him as
The bright pink ditz
For his childish tantrums
And sudden crying fits
To one child of Winter
He was known as so much more
The only one willing and able
To stand his freezing core
A visually unlikely pair was this Winter and his Spring
But Spring gave Winter what he was missing
And Winter gave Spring a song to sing
How truly special Spring was
Winter would never show
Too afraid of destroying something beautiful
To let his love openly flow
Spring set out to make a warm Summer
Or at least a cool Fall
Winter would be much happier in the end
He was very sure of it all.
But in the end it all backfired
Turning out not quite as planed
The games made Winter tired
So he took Spring by the hand
"Would you really wish to change me?
Do you not like me for who I am?
I love you for you; you should love me for me
Because that's what will truly count in the end."
Of course the Spring loved his Winter
He told him everyday how he felt
He just wanted him to be happy
And for some of the ice in his heart to melt
Maybe he will never
Be Summer, Fall or Spring
But possibly a much warmer Winter
This child could bring.
