He didn't want to let her go.
Every fiber of his being was screaming to go after her. To grab her by the arm and somehow make her remember. Make her realize just what she meant to him.
Make her understand what they had been to each other.
What she still was to him.
Yet he watched helplessly as she slowly melted into the crowd of students, getting farther and farther away until he lost her completely.
He continued to stare at the empty space where she had been standing, quiet anguish building within him, as he gripped the communicator ever tighter.
---I'm not a hero. I'm not out to save the world---
Terra truly didn't remember him.
The mere thought sickened him thoroughly. The horrid realization hurt him worse than anything he could recall.
The excited babble of the students in the corridor contrasted the yawning silence within his heart.
---Things change, Beast Boy---
He muttered something into the communicator and turned to go.
As he ran down the hallway, Terra's words echoed through the recesses of his mind.
---The girl you knew is nothing but a memory---
But what a wonderful memory that was. What a pure, glorious remembrance of a vibrant human being. His friend. His teammate. His first love.
His vision blurred as he exited into the light, determination to help his friends coming to the forefront. As he blinked away the tears, he whispered farewell.
"Good-bye, Terra."

Author's Note: Good-bye, Titans. Thanks for the ride. It's been bumpy at times, but overall quite entertaining. When there's trouble, we knew who to call. . . too bad the line has been disconnected.
