Just Smile
There she sat. Nose buried into the book as usual. His eyes traced her face, and she caught his glance and glared back. "What?" she snapped.
He averted his gaze. "Nothing..." he said quietly, hearing her scoff.
She stood up and walked to the kitchen quickly making a cup of tea.Sliding off the couch he slid off the couch and stood next to her. "So... Ravey, whatchoo doing?" She glanced up at him, and rolled her eyes.
"What does it look like I'm doing?" He smiled and looked at her softly. "Um... Garfield. Why are you looking at me like that?" His smirk grew, and eyes twinkled mischeviously. "Garfield..."
"Smile," he said staring at her.
"No," she shot back defensively. Suddenly he was down on his knees, gripping the bottom of her cloak.
"Pleeeaaasseee Raven!" He begged. "Pleaaasseee!" He formed fake tears on the corner of his eyes, and tugged at her cloak, ending up pulling her down to her knees. "Smile!"
"Get off!" she hissed. "I'm not smiling. So stop bugging me!" Glaring she yanked her cloak out of his hands, which pulled him across the floor, sprawling over her feet. Big mistake. He wrapped his arms around her legs.
"RAVEY! PLEASE! I'll stop bugging you if ya do!" Glancing down at him, she saw his pleading eyes.
"Fine! If you promise you'll leave me alone!" His smile stretched from ear to ear and he stood up quickly. Grabbing her wrists, he pulled her away from the kitchen. "Hey!" she yelled surprised. "Where are you taking me!"
"To the roof! duh! If you're gonna smile, I'm the only one that's gonna get to see it!" He yanked her through the door, and up the stairs. He pulled her around and swung her around. "So... Smile," he said smirking. She pursed her lips together and shook her head. "Aw c'mon! You said you would!"
She turned her head. "Well... I don't want to anymore," She said nervously. "I changed my mind."
Placing a hand to her cheek, he turned her head to face him. He had a soft smile on his face. "Please smile Raven."
She shook her head. "No. I am not smiling." She turned her head away from him. "Not unless you can make me truely happy. Which I doubt you can manage." Smirking again, he slithered his arms around her waist and pulled her close to him. She looked up at him. 'Wait... up? Since when was he taller than me?'
His eyes shimmered deviously and he spoke. "I bet you I can." He leaned his head down slightly and her eyes widened.
"What are you-?"
"Shut up Raven. Just... shut up." He brought his head down, and brushed his lips against hers in a ghost of a kiss. She stared up at him. He smiled down at her. "Feel like smiling yet?"
She shook her head. "No."
"That's what I hoped you'd say," he said raising his hand to the back of her head. He pressed his lips against hers tenderly. He pulled away from her gentley and left her standing in the middle of the roof.
Reaching the door, he opened it and turned around. "Goodnight Raven... And remember... Just smile."
And smile she did.
