Disclaimer: This poem originally belongs to me and no one other. Based on memories of mine, and a great friend.

'Tears Behind The Glass.'

As a good friend of mine once told me,

People will come to pass.

But, memories will never vain,

Photographs will last.

-

I knew he was right at the time.

The people they can take.

But never will they get what's in your heart.

It's a memory unable to break.

-

"I will always be there for you."

Is what people tend to say.

While deep inside you know it's not true,

Forever, no one can stay.

-

Yet, it feels so good at those times.

Two warm arms around you, for you to hold on to.

From that day on I knew, you'd be there for me.

And I would be there for you.

-

Time went by, as we moved on.

You are calling me now, a friend of you has gone.

Another problem for you to deal with.

Another life is done.

-

This is were I was your support,

This time you would lean on me.

Even though, I can't bring them back,

They're in your heart and you hold that key.

-

Think about the good times,

And know that the memories are yours.

I know the pain is stronger at times,

But if you turn to me, their will be open doors.

-

Of course, we want nothing more than our lost ones back.

To hear them laugh and talk.

But one day, It will be us on that road,

Finding our way to walk.

-

And I wish I could hold on to you forever.

Like, letting go would be the end.

Never let go, never leave your side,

That is what you call a true friend.

-

So I'll tell you once again,

When you need me I'll be here.

Each and every day,

Here, is were I'll stay.
