Summary: Neville and Luna sit back, gaze at the moon and wonder about happiness.

Neville stared at the moon, thoughts unlike his normal ones racing through his mind. Luna Lovegood was staring at the moon with him, all their thoughts circulating around that glowing silver orb.

Suddenly Neville spoke. "I wish I could go there. It looks so gentle, and sweet. Like nothing evil could ever happen." He immediatly felt foolish and kept his eyes on the moon. It was full tonight, and it illuminated the slight clouds clinging to its sides, causing a beautiful effect. He imagined that the moon was smiling down on him, forever at peace.

"One day we will go to the moon, Neville. All of us will. It's a happy place there. It could be happy here too if people didn't feel the need to hurt." Luna's voice was misty and soft, and Neville was amazed at how much it sounded like the breeze rustling through her long hair. Neville turned towards Luna and stared at her illuminated face. She looked sad; more sad than anyone as naturally happy as she was had a right to be. He reached out bravely and took her hand.

Luna didn't look at him, just continued to stare at the moon, but she squeezed his fingers in response. They said nothing for awhile, until Neville said softly, "I'll be glad to go to the moon, Luna, especially if you're there with me." Luna turned to look at him then, her wide eyes sparkling and shining in the light of the moon, and she looked at him closely. With an abrupt movement she reached over and matter-of-factly kissed his lips. Neville opened his eyes wide in surprise and let out a terrified little squeak and Luna released him.

When Neville dared to look at her again, she had an odd smile around her lips, and she was watching the moon once again. "Why are you smiling like that?" he asked, worried. She ignored him for a second, all her thoughts directed towards the glowing orb, her eyes faraway.

Finally she turned back to him, and responded. "Neville, I think that as long as you and I stick together, we can be as happy here on this earth as if we were on the moon. You make me happy, Neville. You are shy, and brave, and good, and you would never hurt. I don't like it when people hurt. It brings hate and sadness." She stared at him, and her eyes almost burned into his skin, but he felt happier than ever.

Neville watched her for a second then he answered. "I think you're right." Luna nodded at him and stared into his eyes. Neville wrapped his arms around her tightly, letting her head rest on his shoulder. Their eyes held the same expression as when they had been looking towards the moon, but instead they were looking at each other.
