CHAPTER 4

THE TRAIN MASSACRE

When Shadow, Rouge, and Espio got to the hospital, Shadow was in the delivery room with Rouge trying to comfort her, but it couldn't be helped because nothing would ease her pain.

Rouge was squeezing the life out of his hand trying her best to keep calm.

Espio was outside of the room waiting all he did was hear a load of screaming coming from the door beside him. 'I hope she doesn't get me death. What am I saying? Shadow's the one that has to take all the screaming. Heh, I guess I'm the lucky one.'

A few minutes passed and Rouge's loud screaming finally stopped.

Espio was allowed to come in the room to see Shadow and Rouge's baby. He came in the room and saw Rouge in the bed cradling something wrapped in a white blanket. He looked in it and saw a small black hedgehog that looked exactly like Shadow except he didn't have his red quills, he had big green eyes, and small black bat wings.

He yawned and looked over at Espio smiling and giggling.

Rouge smiled at Espio, "I think he likes you, Espio."

"What's his name?"

Rouge looked over at Shadow and then back to him, "Shadow and I decided to name him Spike."

"Spike?" Espio looked at the child again, "yeah, Spike does seem to fit his personality. He looks cute on the outside, but in the inside I bet he'll try to bite someone's head off."

Rouge and Espio laughed while Shadow was staring out the window with his arms crossed thinking about Lance's death.

When Shadow and Rouge returned to their house they bought their new son along with them.

As Spike looked around, he liked his new surroundings. He laughed a bit.

Rouge smiled down at Spike while she was holding him. "He's laughing."

Shadow shrugged, "So?"

Rouge shook her head and sighed, "Never mind." She set Spike down on the floor to let him crawl around. She turned to Shadow and crossed her arms like she was angry with him. "Okay Shadow, it's truth time. Exactly where were you when you went out today?"

Shadow turned his head and crossed his arms, "I just went out for a walk."

"You're doing it again, Shadow!"

Shadow looked back at her, "What?"

"You're lying to me again."

"Fine, I'll tell you the rest. I came across the Street Punks' territory and decided to kill Lance."

Rouge stood there wanting to hear more, "And?"

"I did. I killed Lance the Fox."

"And you still don't look happy."

"How did you know I was lying to you?"

"You looked kinda beat up when you came back. That's when I had my suspicions."

Shadow unexpectedly walked up to her and kissed her with his tongue in her mouth.

Rouge had no idea why he was doing this, but she went along with it.

He broke away from her.

Rouge was in confusion, "What was that for?"

Shadow smirked, "For being a good wife."

Rouge blushed and was surprised to have heard that from Shadow. She hugged him, "Oh Shadow, I love you."

He hugged her back, "I love you too, Rouge."

Rouge broke away from him, "So got anything else for me?" She asked in a seductive voice.

"Maybe when Spike's asleep. We'll see", he walked upstairs.

Rouge walked over to Spike and picked him up while he was crawling all over the living room. "Come rock with mommy, sweetie." She sat on the sofa with Spike in her arms cradling him while humming to him.

In a couple of minutes later Spike had finally went to sleep sucking on his thumb.

Rouge took the child upstairs into his new room. When she got there she placed him in a small crib. She stared at him for a long time admiring how cute he was, "what an angel", she said softly. She quietly walked out of the child's room trying not to wake him up.

She then made it into the bedroom looking at Shadow sitting on the bed looking through some papers. She joined him glancing at the mess he made with papers all on the bed. She started to pick them up and handing them to Shadow. "I put Spike to sleep. You sure made a mess with these documents."

"When my ten days are up from suspension, I'll be back where I started."

"Really, I thought it was five days?"

Shadow shook his head, "Nope, ten. Since blood was taken place in the fight Vector extended it."

"What a shame."

Shadow was finished putting away all the papers, "I kinda like it. I get some days off."

Rouge laughed, "You start fights every week. I'm surprised you're not fired yet."

Shadow smirked, "You think so?" Shadow got on top of Rouge kissing her down her neck to her huge breasts. He started to kiss her right breast, "Take it off", he whispered.

Rouge took off her shirt and her breasts were revealed.

He forced her down on the bed licking her nipples.

Rouge moaned. She took her hands and grabbed the zipper to his pants, "I did my part, now you do yours."

When the evening darkened Shadow and Rouge were still in bed done mating each other. They were completely exposed. Now they were just talking.

Rouge eyed his left hand thinking that she saw something on it. She took it looking into the palm of his hand. Her eyes widened when she saw a strange mark on it, "Shadow, what the heck is this?"

Shadow took his hand away from hers and looked at it.

"You mean my birthmark?"

The mark looked like a huge star with a circle around it with another circle around the first circle, it had six small stars in the inside of the second circle.

"That is no birthmark."

"Yeah I know it's weird."

"There's nothing to be ashamed of. You're like one of the special ones."

Shadow was silent for the moment, "...Okay..."

She yawned, "I guess all of that excitement really took it out of me."

Shadow got out of the bed getting dressed.

Rouge thought she made him mad again, "Did I say something wrong?"

Shadow shook his head, "No, you didn't say anything wrong." He was finished putting his clothes back on and walked over to Rouge's side of the bed. "I'm just going to get some fresh air. I don't feel very well right now."

Rouge nodded, "Be back soon okay?"

Shadow kissed her on her forehead, "All right." He left the room.

Later Shadow was near the lake hoping that he would feel a bit better, but he seemed to have gotten worse. He coughed and when he looked in his hand he saw blood. His eyes widened, "What's happening to me?" He coughed once more along with some vomiting. He kneeled down on the ground throwing up blood. He then felt a strong pain in his left hand. He took off his glove and saw his birthmark glowing a greenish color. Then he felt more pain in his sides he began holding them. He felt pains everywhere. It hurt all over. His teeth turned to fangs, he grew horns on his head, see through wings appeared from his back, he grew sharp long claws, his eyes were glowing red, and his tail was longer. The monster stood from the ground with drooling fangs. He used his wings and flew off into the night sky.

Later on a black train that blended in with the night, many people were on board. The ones that were against the windows had their heads leaning against the windows feeling dreary.

The engineer was in the front taking control of the train, he was calm until he was startled by hearing his passengers scream. He quickly ran into the in the passenger section and saw complete and utter bloodshed. His mouth was hanging open from the gruesome sight. He saw some passengers' heads cut off and some stabbed just anywhere in the body. Most of the people died in their seats, while the rest lied on the floor bleeding to death. The engineer was so scared he thought he was going to have a heart attack right then. He then heard something coming from the back. He waited nervously for the person to show, "Come out and show yourself", he tried to say in a steady voice.

Then a bloody little girl holding a bloodstained brown stuffed bear appeared from the back. She ran to him in tears. "Please, you have to help me!"

The engineer tried to calm her down, "It's okay, calmly tell me what happened."

The girl took a deep breath, "There was this black monster and it killed everybody. It killed mommy."

The engineer hugged her, "Come with me, I'll call the cops." He was heading back to the front to find the phone, but a black creature appeared and stabbed the man in his stomach while the little girl ran and screamed.

The monster dropped the dead man to the floor walking towards the innocent girl with his bloody claws in position.

The girl dropped her bear as the monster stabbed the girl in her head.
