CHAPTER 6

DARK'S TEAM FORMED

It was the next day and Nails came back from shopping. She never lived anywhere, so she usually hanged out in an abandoned factory. She got there setting her things on a weak table. She hated Rouge so much. She was mad at her for being Shadow's lover when she loved him. She sighed, "Things are so quiet around here, I haven't seen Shadow for at least two weeks. If I don't see him soon, I think I'll die." She then heard foot steps within the darkness. She turned to see who it was, "Huh, who's there?"

The dark figure approached her.

Nails gasped, "Dark, what a surprise. What are you doing here?"

"I came to make a deal with you."

"What is that?"

"If you work with me, I'll make sure you spend as much time with Shadow whenever you want."

Nails thought his promise wouldn't come as planned, "Nice deal Dark, but one thing. Shadow doesn't like me there's no way he'll come near me."

Dark laughed, "That's when you're wrong. Just get Shadow tell him that I know exactly what's happening to him."

"You do huh?"

"Of course. I'll tell you too once you've completed my first task."

Nails decided to join him, "I'm in. Where is he exactly?"

Dark smirked.

Later at Shadow's house while Shadow was still out Rouge decided to do some research on Shadow's birthmark on the internet in the bedroom.

Spike was crawling around on the bedroom floor just exploring his new surroundings.

"That mark that Shadow has isn't normal and I'm gonna find out what it is." She began typing, until she came across an interesting site. She gasped when the web page finished loading, "This...can't be..."

Later at the lake Shadow was just standing there looking into the lake water, until he saw a black bat's reflection along with his.

"Hey sexy."

Shadow immediately jumped away from her. He stood in a fighting stance, "Nails, you witch. What do you want?"

"Calm down Shadow, I just wanna talk."

Shadow simmered down a bit, "About what? If it's about kissing me you can forget it."

"I would, but this time it's different. Dark summoned me here."

"Dark! You working for him?"

Nails nodded, "Yeah, but this isn't about me, it's you. Dark says he knows what you're going through. He knows what you're becoming."

Shadow's eyes widened, "He does?"

Nails once again nodded, "He'll tell you everything once you've reached his base."

Shadow had a choice to make, 'Should I trust her and go with her. I must, I must find the truth.' Shadow came up with his decision, "I'll go with you."

Nails jumped up, "All right! Lets go!"

Shadow took out a green Chaos Emerald and did Chaos Control.

Nails used some kind of black magic and it transported her straight to Dark's base.

When they got there the base was huge it had a lot of space in the place.

Shadow crossed his arms, "Where's Dark?"

"Here, Shadow." A voice called behind him.

Shadow turned around and saw the black demon. "Dark Demon, you'd better explain yourself this time."

"I will Shadow, I will. Be patient."

"Patience is the only thing that's slipping right now."

Dark was ready to tell Shadow what was happening, "You've been having side pains right?"

Shadow made a slight nod.

"Coughing and vomiting blood?"

Shadow nodded again.

"Anger problems?"

Shadow got angry with his comment, "You trying to say I have an attitude problem?"

Dark sighed, "That's a yes. The cause of all of this Shadow, is because you're a demon."

Shadow couldn't believe what he just said, "What?"

Dark nodded, "You are a demon just like me."

"What do you mean just like you?"

"Before you were born your father, Dash Hedgehog and your mother, Anita Hedgehog came to me with a problem. Your mother had a terrible disease and they thought for sure you wouldn't make it. They thought you would die before birth. So they came to me begging for me to give you life and I did. I gave your mother my demon blood she took it and gave it to you. Afterwards it was a success you were born without flaws, but that mark on your left hand tells people to fear you because you are Darkness the demon son of the great Lord Dark."

Shadow kneeled to the floor just looking at it, "I'm Darkness a...demon?"

"My son."

Shadow took his eyes away from the floor and faced Dark, "I'm..."

Dark smirked, "Yes you are apart of me just as I'm apart of you."

Shadow stood from the floor laughing evilly, "I see I am the one causing all of this destruction. I killed those lives on that train. I am the evil one referred to as Darkness your son."

Nails was a little afraid of the two so she backed away a little.

Dark nodded and placed his hand out for Shadow to take, "Join with me and together we shall wipe out these worthless mortals. Demons will rule! You Shadow, you have a special gift."

"What gift is that my lord?" Shadow was already falling under Dark's control.

"You have the ability to open the gates of hell upon this planet."

Shadow took his hand, "I will make you proud, father."

Back at Shadow's house Rouge still had her mouth hanging open from the information the computer had. It had the same mark Shadow had on the computer screen, "It says, that this mark stands for the Mark of the Demon. It has great power with the side of evil. Whoever wields this mark has the ability to...open the gates of hell upon the world!" She looked away from the computer screen and picked up Spike which he was still crawling around the room, "Oh my god, I have to tell the others." She ran out of the house heading towards the Chaotix.
