CHAPTER 8

THE PLAN PROCEEDING

Later in the X-jet Charmy was following Tonya's tracking signal. Charmy noticed they were in a snow storm. "Tonya, I think we're in the arctic. Are you sure this is right?"

Tonya nodded, "Positive."

Espio pointed to a large structure up ahead, "Look at that."

Everyone looked ahead and saw the huge base.

"Is that...it?" Charmy said as he flew the plane closer to it.

"Its gotta be. It's Dark's base", Rouge was worried at the time, hoping that they weren't too late.

Charmy landed the plane near the base.

When they got inside the base it was huge. They didn't know where to look first.

Vector decided they should split up in groups, "Espio, me, and Tonya will go one way while Chloe and Charmy go the other and Rouge..."

"I'll gonna find Spike", Rouge walked in a different direction.

While the rest of the team separated. Little did they know they were being watched by surveillance cameras.

Dark saw them split up on the monitors in the control room.

Shadow was in there with him, "It's them."

"They seemed to have split up. Shadow, go after the group with the crocodile. While I take care of those two insects and wherever Nails is she'll take care of that white bat."

"Yes Lord Dark." Shadow walked out of the room.

Later Chloe and Charmy came to a small spaced room they heard something crying they assumed it was Spike.

Chloe looked ahead of herself and saw the baby hedgehog held captive in a cage. "Spike." She tried to break the bars, but couldn't. "I can't break the bars, Charmy."

"Don't worry Chloe, I got it covered." Charmy took out a pen, but no ordinary pen it was really a laser. The red beam struck at the bars and with ease the bars were broken off.

Chloe picked up Spike and cradled him, "Spike, you're safe."

Spike felt very safe in her arms.

Charmy urged her to leave the room, "Lets get out of here before Dark shows up." When Charmy turned to the doorway a black demon showed up.

Chloe held Spike tighter in her grip, "Dark."

Charmy stood in a fighting stance, "I'll protect you and Spike."

Dark walked closer to them, "Give me the child, girl."

Chloe backed away, "Charmy, stop him."

Charmy took out a small knife and threw it into Dark's leg.

Dark yelled as blood came from it, "You little pest!" Dark held out his claw and slashed at Charmy in his chest.

Charmy fell to the floor bleeding.

Chloe kneeled down at him, "Charmy, are you okay?"

Charmy looked at Chloe with weakness, "I'm fine."

Dark walked up to Chloe and easily took Spike from her arms, "I'll take that." He walked out of the room.

Chloe felt bad for letting Dark get away with Spike, but she couldn't do anything about it, she had no power to stop him.

Charmy stood from the floor slowly, "Chloe, you let him get away!"

"I'm sorry Charmy, I didn't know what to do."

Charmy sighed, "You're right, I shouldn't have never blamed you. Lets go and get Spike back."

Later Vector and the rest were in a room that had plenty of space perfect for a fight.

Vector had also noticed that it was a dead end, "A dead end."

"You can say that again", a voice said behind them.

They turned and saw Shadow leaning against the wall.

"Shadow!" Espio said reaching for a weapon, "They told me what Dark's been doing to yea. You have to break out of his control now."

"Silence, I take orders from no one except Lord Dark."

"Shadow..."

Shadow bought on an evil smirk, "Time to teach you all a lesson."

Later in a narrow hallway Rouge was walking along the long hallway trying to find Spike, until a certain black bat came along, "Nails?"

"Hey sis, you seem more persistent than usual."

"Yeah, you stealing my husband!"

"Face it, Shadow is under Dark's complete control. Besides he lets me get all over him, it's like he doesn't even care."

"You had better not have laid your lips on him."

Nails smirked, "And if I did?"

Rouge came at her with a punch in the face.

Nails held her face, "You bitch!" She got punched in the face again. "That's it!" Out of nowhere in her hand appeared a black long spear. She pointed it at Rouge and tried to stab her with it, but missed. She did it again and that time she got her.

Rouge was stabbed with the weapon in her shoulder. She kneeled to the floor holding her bloody shoulder.

Nails was going for the final blow, until Rouge used her leg and tripped her up.

Nails fell to the ground dropping her weapon. It slid across the floor.

Rouge then eyed an axe hanging from a hook on the wall.

As Nails tried to get up she was startled by Rouge swinging the axe at her. She fell back down on the floor ready for Rouge to slice at her.

Rouge struck the axe down at her and practically cut off her arm.

Nails screamed.

Rouge looked at the witch again, "See you in hell bitch." She struck the axe down in her skull and kept the axe in her head with blood arising from her injured skull. For sure she was dead.

Rouge left her body there continuing on with her business.

Back to Vector's problem Shadow walked up to the group, "Now for you mortals to witness my true power." Shadow kneeled to the ground holding his sides while coughing up blood. He began to transform into his demon form again.

Shadow stood from the ground in his new powerful form facing the Chaotix, "I am Darkness and you will all die."
