Sesshoumaru stood outside the tiny hut his jaw officially dropped. He barely registered Inuyasha's cheerful pat on his back.

Well I just heard the news today

It seems my life is gonna change

Sesshoumaru closed blinked rapidly coming slowly out of his state of initial shock.

I close me eyes, being to pray

Then tears of joy stream down my face

A boy, he was a Dad. Him, Sesshoumaru, a father to a baby boy.

Sesshoumaru slowly closed his jaw as the curtain serving as the door moved slightly and Sango stepped out with a tiny bundle in her hand.

With arms wide open

Smiling Sango placed the squirming baby in Sesshoumaru arms. The silver haired demon snuggled against the warmth of his father's body sighing contently.

Well I don't know if I'm ready

To be the man I have to be

Silently Sesshoumaru dragged his eyes away from the baby and turned back to the hut entrance and walked over to his tired love. Kagome smiled at him weakly savoring the site of her husband and his child together.

I'll take a breath, take her by my side

We stand in awe, we've created life

Sesshoumaru smiled and leaned over setting the baby back into his mother's arms. Kagome smiled back and took the baby motioning of him to sit behind her. He obeyed placing a hand on Kagome's shoulder.

Neither parent noticed when the others entered, or left. They were entranced by the tiny sleeping child. His golden eyes hidden behind his tiny eyelids while his ears twitched while he slept.

Now everything has changed

Sesshoumaru smiled again and placed a small kiss on his wife's forehead urging her to get some much needed sleep. As Kagome joined her child in slumber Sesshoumaru reflected on what this new creation would mean to him and his life.

If I had just one wish

Only one demand

I hope he's not like me

I hope he understands

That he can take this life

And hold it by the hand

And he can greet the world

With arms wide open

He wouldn't be like Sesshoumaru. He would be smarter and not waste so much time on silly pride, or ego. No he would by far be better than Sesshoumaru ever was.

Yes he would be the greatest of all his kind. Not because he was powerful, or beautiful, but because he was kind and fair. That would be his son.

Now everything has changed

And with that resounding oath Sesshoumaru also let himself join the dream world. His time for waiting and worrying was done, now he had a much harder challenge. He would have to be a father.
