Hermione had completed her shopping and was now waiting inside the train station for her best friends, Harry and Ron. The two boys showed up after only a few minutes. Hermione smiled and waved frantically at them. Harry spotted her, smiled, and made his way towards her. Hermione wrapped her arms around his neck in a giant hug. Then she hugged Ron just as eagerly. The trio was all smiles. All of them were thankful to be together again. Hermione smiled. She knew that new adventures awaited her this year. She silently hoped that one of them would be to see if her dreams were real or not. To see if there really was a boy at Hogwarts who could make her feel like a goddess. Hermione, Harry, and Ron all took their trunks and animal cages onto the train. Hermione was carrying Crookshanks under one arm and Helen under the other. She had named her new owl Helen, after the Princess whose beauty started the Trojan War. She got this idea from her dreams. The boy always referred to Hermione as 'his Helen.' The friends settled into a compartment and started talking about their vacations. Hermione hadn't gotten much sleep the night before, so she laid down on one of the benches and took a short nap. It wasn't short enough to keep her dreams away. She was once again visited by the familiar voice and feeling...
*Hermione was walking through a garden wearing a long, white, flowing gown. She had a garland made of ivy and daisies on her head. As she walked past wilted flowers, their blooms rose again and became brighter. It was truly a scene out of a fairy tale. As she wondered around the garden, she came to a brook. Just to the left there was a tall white rock, it looked like marble. Water cascaded down the rock, almost like a waterfall. She approached the bank listening to the soft sounds from the water. She looked to her right and saw him approaching. Her Prince. The man she knew the stars had destined her to be with. The man she loved. He walked up to her and drew her into his arms at once. He bent down and kissed her softly. His smell intoxicated her. She could barely breathe. She melted into his embrace.
"My Hermione, you look so beautiful. Please come dance with me," he said. Hermione took his hand and they began to dance to the soft music coming from the garden. Hermione closed her eyes and rested her head against the Prince's chest. He began to sing a song she didn't know, but that didn't matter. His voice was beautiful, and what he was singing sounded beautiful as well. Hermione knew that as long as he kept singing, as long as she heard his voice, everything in the world would be ok. And the world was ok; he was here with her now, promising to never leave her. She and her Prince danced together in a moment of perfect bliss. When the music stopped, her Prince backed away from her. A boat pulled up to the bank. The boat took them across a lagoon. The boat arrived on land. Hermione got out of the boat just as a unicorn emerged from the forest. Her Prince helped her onto its back. Climbing on behind her, he wrapped his arms around her, making her feel secure. The unicorn took them back past the lagoon, down a winding path along the brook, and back into the garden. There were now faeries scattered about, adding shimmers of light to the flowers. The garden was now basked in a light glow. Her Prince looked at her, taking in every detail of her face. "They say Helen's beauty was unmatchable. I know that I will never meet a woman as beautiful as you, Hermione. You are my Helen," the Prince said as he kissed her neck. Hermione sighed and once again melted in his arms. It began to rain very lightly in the garden. It was beautiful. Tiny drops were falling from the trees above. Hermione smiled as water trickled down her face. As the rain fell faster, Hermione and her Prince took shelter under a small terrace in the garden. She smiled up at him. He leaned down and kissed her. Hermione smiled into the kiss as she deepened it. His arms were wrapped around her. Her arms were loosely around his neck. Their kissing became more intense. He moved the soft material from the dress off her shoulder and kissed it lightly. Hermione felt chills coursing through her body. Little patches of heat remained where his lips trailed. Hermione sighed happily. His lips found hers again. His kiss was so pure, so full of love and emotion. Hermione felt tears forming in her eyes. She looked up at him. She wanted to hear it from him again, hear him say that he loved her. He opened his mouth to speak - *
Hermione bolted upright when she heard a giant crash. Pig had gotten out of his cage and was zooming around the compartment. Ron and Harry were trying their best to catch him, but it was no luck. Harry leapt to catch Pig mid-air, but had crashed into Helen's cage and broke it so Helen could get out. Helen flew around making matters worse. Hedwig sat in her cage and hooted in a non-approving way. Helen turned and dived towards Pig. In one graceful swish of her wings she was on top of him, grasping one of his wings with her left foot. Pig flittered for a moment, and then calmed down. Helen flew up to a perch in the room, and Pig remained where he was. Harry, realizing this was his only chance, grabbed Pig and put him back into his cage. Ron sat next to Hermione.
"Helen..." he whispered.
"What?" Hermione gasped. Had Ron just called her Helen? Was he the Prince from her dream?
"Your owl, Helen. Did you see that? Bloody brilliant. She's a lot like you, that owl. Always trying to help others." Ron smiled at her. Hermione smiled back. Maybe he did call her Helen, in an indirect way. Hermione felt her stomach do a flip as Ron continued to smile at her. Just then, Seamus came by and opened the compartment door.
"Hey, Harry, Ron. Come see what Dean's mum bought him for his seventh year!!" he exclaimed. Ron and Harry got up and left with Seamus. Hermione sat and thought about her dream. It had never gone that far. She remembered dancing, and the singing. She remembered the boat, the unicorn. But the rain was new. The intense kissing was definitely new. The emotions were new. Hermione wasn't sure how she felt about that. Well, she knew exactly how she felt. She was scared and excited all at the same time. She just didn't know what to make of it.
