Hermione was running towards the Great Hall. The beginning of term feast started 5 minutes ago, but Hermione had been called to Professor McGonagall's office about her schedule again. Apparently Hermione had signed up for the same class twice. She had no clue how this had happened, but it was fixed quickly. She had finally arrived at the Great Hall. Just as she was about to enter, Draco Malfoy stepped in front of her preventing her to continue through the doors.

"Well, hello Granger. Have a nice summer?" Malfoy sneered. Hermione noticed the badge on his robes that read Head Boy.

"I see all of your father's threats have paid off, Malfoy," Hermione spat. Malfoy glared at her.

"Well, mudblood. If you must know, father didn't think it was best for me to be Head Boy. Thought it would draw too much attention to the family, seeing as how he barely escaped Azkaban. I just wanted to let you know that I plan on repaying you, Potter and Weasley for revealing my father." With that, Malfoy turned and left. Hermione hurried into the Great Hall and sat next to Ron. She quickly told him everything Malfoy had just said.

"That bloody git. Who ever told him he was anything special? I can't wait until quidditch starts this year. Harry'll show him. Won't you Harry?" Harry was staring at Malfoy, his eyes narrowed. Harry hadn't been paying attention. He was staring intently at his food, as if he was searching for an answer. Apparently they didn't have it. Harry turned and looked at them.

"What?" he asked. Hermione rolled her eyes. Harry never paid attention to her. Neither did Ron. The truth was that the only boy that ever paid attention to her was her Prince, but that was only in dreams. Hermione sighed. Ginny Weasley noticed.

"What's wrong Hermione?" she asked. "Nothing," Hermione lied. Ginny knew she was lying, but she let it go. Hermione would come to her when she was ready. Dumbledore rose. A silence fell upon the students.

"Welcome. It is time to begin what looks to be another exciting year at Hogwarts. I would like to remind everyone that the forest is off limits to all students. Mr. Filch has informed me of a new rule that was added to the list. He has instituted that all products from Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes are hereby banned from Hogwarts. Any student caught using them will be severely punished." Harry, Ron and Hermione saw the twinkle in his eye. Dumbledore dismissed them. The students shuffled out to their classes. Hermione looked across the hall at Malfoy. He just stared right back, sending a chill down her spine.

* * * Hermione arrived just in time for her first potions lesson. She had stayed after in Charms to talk with Professor Flitwick to talk about the possibility of her tutoring another student. Ron and Harry had already sat down. The only seat left open was in the back, next to Neville Longbottom. And to Hermione's disgust, in front of Malfoy. She clambered into her seat next to Neville. Neville smiled at her. Professor Snape swept into the room. Hermione could hear Harry and Ron groan from where she was. She smiled. Her friends would never like Snape, no matter what he did for them.

"The instructions are on the board. Begin." Snape sat at his desk and ignored the class. Hermione worked through the potion. It wasn't too hard. She was wondering if Snape was losing his touch. With twenty minutes left in the lesson, Snape instructed the students to clean up as he inspected their potions. As he passed by Neville and Hermione's desk, he stopped and checked Neville's twice.

"10 points from Gryffindor. I thought you had learned years ago Miss Granger not to help Mr. Longbottom with his potions." Hermione gasped.

"But Professor! I didn't help him. He did it on his own!" Hermione explained frantically.

"I cannot believe the Mr. Longbottom is capable of doing anything right, even with help," Snape sneered.

"Professor, if I may," Malfoy interjected. "Hermione didn't help Neville at all. I watched them, and I know she didn't."

"Very well," Snape said, moving towards the front of the room. "I will give Gryffindor their points back when they earned them." Hermione groaned. She knew Snape would never admit to being wrong. And she sure as hell knew that he would never award point to a Gryffindor. Hermione hurried out of the dungeon to catch up with Malfoy. Ron and Harry were only a few steps behind her.

"What was that, Malfoy?" Hermione asked. Malfoy looked from her to Ron to Harry and then back to her.

"I told you, Granger. I want to pay you back for revealing my father." Malfoy walked away with his cronies following close behind him, leaving Harry, Ron and Hermione standing there very confused.
