The ride home in the car was full. Full of so many feeling and emotions and things left unsaid. There was so much happiness but also nervousness and anxiety.
Will wanted to tell Grace how beautiful and important she was to him. That she was the pillar that held up his life. That when he looked at her, it took his breath away and he got butterflies in his stomach, just like all his junior high loves. It was simple. She was simply his.
Grace wanted to tell Will how much she loved him. About all the times she probably would have thrown herself off a cliff if it wasn't for him. Even in those times when he was the reason she wanted it all to end, it was his face that kept her back. It was simple. He was simply hers.
And now, this baby that they would share would be an eternal connection. It was a summary of all of their thoughts and emotions in the past fifteen years. Everything they had ever done, together or apart, was leading up to this one tiny being. A being so simple. Simply theirs.
