Random idea, but I like it! Okay, first off- schism means a permanent split doesn't it…but I just had an urge to use the word! So please don't fuss over the title…not that you would…I mean, I don't really think that grammatologists read this or anything…
Disclaimer: I don't own pokemon, or I'd obviously give Team Rocket a life…I mean, seriously!
Prologue: Temporary Schism
The three infamous and unsuccessful Team Rocket members sat in one of their run-down cabins in the middle of an unnamed forest. Jesse and Meowth were just finishing the remains of their meager dinner, when James slapped down some envelopes on the table.
"What James? Why the long face?" asked Jesse.
"Money…" replied James.
"Oh no…not dis again." complained Meowth.
"I'm serious this time!" said James. Apparently, they'd gone through this before.
"What's the damage?" asked Jesse in a strained voice.
"Your bank account is drained, and mine almost is too."
"Dat's okay. I keep some money stored in--." started Meowth.
"Used it." interrupted James.
Meowth and Jesse gasped. That's when things really get bad.
James pointed to the envelopes. "Those are the bills we owe to Team Rocket and for all our machines. We never finished paying everything off."
"We're gonna go bankrupt at dis rate." remarked Meowth sadly.
"What about a loan?" asked Jesse, trying to keep her calm.
James was ready for that one. He put some more papers on the table, seemingly out of nowhere.
"We never finished paying these off." he said.
"Oh…no…" said Jesse.
"It's dat Pikachu's fault! We should make him and de twoips pay for all dis!" said Meowth angrily.
"No." said Jesse surprisingly. "They're the ones who got us into this mess, but every time we follow them, we end up paying more! We have to come up with a better way to make money."
"Our jobs aren't helping…how are we going to do that?" asked James.
"I know!" yelled Jesse, jumping up from the table. "Let's split up! I'll be back in a second." Jesse left the room.
"Split up? What does she mean?" asked James, confused. Meowth looked just as confused.
Jesse came back with a map. "We'll split up for a year." She unrolled the map on the table. "Meowth, you can go to Kanto. James, you should go for Johto. I'll be here at Hoenn. We can do whatever we want for a year, and earn as much as we can. We'll leave first thing tomorrow. We'll meet back here a year from tomorrow."
"But…" said James.
"Nope, I'm not changing my mind! We're doing this! Do you have any better ideas?" yelled Jesse.
"Actually…" said Meowth.
"I don't care, I'm not hearing it! We're going! Any questions?" asked Jesse, impatiently tapping her foot.
"What about interest rates?" asked James.
"We'll manage! Now start packing!" barked Jesse.
