His Confession

by silkyblackboxers

A/n: This is our first fan fic written during class, a boring one we might add… It is now their 7th year at Hogwarts and Draco and Hermione are Head Students. This set in a deserted corridor around 30 minutes before dinner. The pair was doing some last minute patrolling before dinner… Without further ado

Draco, who was at a loss for words, stood face to face with who he felt the deepest and mysterious feeling for. It was definitely love for him. But for her? He did not know. If he told her what he truly felt for her, she would either laugh at him or run away. And if she responded with the same feelings of true love… 'As if,' he thought. He thought it impossible. But to be completely honest, there was little hope in him that he prayed for, that he hung on to with everything he had.

"What do you want to talk about?" asked Hermione, irritated, raising an eyebrow while tapping her foot.

Draco needed to find words. He sure it wasn't a dream when he practiced in front of his full length mirror in his room. The tapping of Hermione's foot rang in his ears. It distracted him.

"Will you please stop tapping your foot for just once?" Draco said. Hermione stopped and waited for him, thinking his purpose wasn't important.

Finally the words he practiced started coming out. But I wasn't as smooth as he hoped, rather rehearsed.

"Gra – Hermione, erm… well… you see," Draco sarted. Both he and Hermione were shocked to hear him stutter and, frankly, for the first time wasn't his usual arrogant, pratty self – AT ALL.

'I have loved you for along time, I'm just too afraid to tell you or acknowledge it. Please don't laugh or run away. I have this little hope that I cling to with all my life. Please don't hurt my feelings and my pride. NO! That's wrong… Just wrong! You're not about to say that are you? Because if you do, you really are pathetic. And that's not what you rehearsed in front of your mirror with her picture on it. And that's not what you want her to hear,' he thought.

"Okay, the thing is… Dammit! How do I say this?" Draco said.

"Say what?"

"It's not exactly, I mean, actually a matter of words."

'What am I saying?' He thought.

"It's more than words. It's actually really, really difficult to express," Draco continued.

"Huh? I don't get what you're saying… anyway… you're wasting my time." Hermione told him, apparently growing even more annoyed and now, impatient.

A/n: She needs to find Harry, Ron or Ginny to accompany her to dinner

She began to tap her foot again. Usually Draco was a smooth talker. But with her, he was different.

The mere fact that he had know idea what would happen after what he was about to do, made him feel afraid. Yes, afraid. But this fear what different. Now, it wasn't about his pride anymore. It was the fear of him not being with the girl who made his entire world seem to be non-existent, the only girl who, for the first time made his heart melt.

He kissed her. To his surprise, she kissed back. Only for a moment they were in each other's arms. But hearing a multitude of voices and footsteps of students heading in their direction to go down to the Great Hall for dinner, they parted and had to pretend like nothing happened.

Ginny spotted Hermione and grabbed her to go to dinner. Both Hermione and Draco now had a different look on in their eyes. They were in love. Nobody noticed this except for Ginny as she glanced to Hermione, then to Draco and back. She just smiled and said absolutely nothing.

Hermione was smiling a faint smile and thinking of how everything now was perfect as Draco watched her and Ginny walking down the stairs, dreaming of only her.

A/n: all his rehearsals were worth it… Haha!
